JOB TITLE:                 Stores Clerk
FLSA:                            Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT:          Bus Maintenance
REPORTS TO:             Storeroom Manager
PAY RATE:                   $16.00 hourly

JOB FUNCTION: Handles researching, looking up and issuing parts, as well as receipt, labeling, storage, documentation, and security of all parts or supplies in the Storeroom.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.  Receives parts, adds labels to each part, and stocks parts same day by assigning new stock numbers as needed, typing bin tags as necessary and entering data in the computer as required. Also receives and verifies materials and supplies. Resolves problem shipments as needed.
2.  Provides counter service.
3.  Issues parts to maintenance personnel.
4.  Delivers office supplies.
5.  Cleans and organizes shelves, bins, racks, etc.
6.  Maintains a clean and orderly and secure storeroom.
7.  Ensures creditability and accuracy of information on work orders.
8.  Maintains the filing system for invoices and PO’s.9. Types packing slips and prepares RFMS on material to be returned and reclaimed. Packs reclamation and returns as needed and arranges for pick-up of materials.
9.   Reconciles daily and monthly inventory as assigned.
10. Performs cycle counts as assigned as well as physical inventory.
11. Frequently checks email and communicates with Maintenance personnel.
12. Inspects and cleans spill buckets monthly. 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs duties of other Stores Clerks as needed.
2. Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High school diploma or GED required.

Other:
1. Minimum of 1-3 year’s Storeroom experience preferred.
2. Must be a self-starter, be self-motivated with a can-do attitude and able to work independently as required, as well as be a team player.
3. Must demonstrate willingness and ability to provide world class customer service to both internal and external customers with a service-oriented attitude.
4. Should be able to operate a forklift.
5. Must be able to successfully use a personal computer and be able to accurately enter data into spreadsheets or other inventory programs.
6. Requires ability to handle numerous activities at one time and move between tasks. Able to organize tasks in accordance with company and department priorities and complete them efficiently and on time.
7. Must be willing to comply with MATA’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
8. Must always comply with safety and COVID protocols.
9. Regular and consistent attendance is required.

 Environment:
1. Extensive sitting is required while using office equipment such as computers, phones, etc. Some standing and walking during a normal workday will also be required as well as bending, stooping, and crouching. For work that will be performed in inside working conditions should be able to tolerate changes in building environment such as with or without air conditioning or heating. Should also be able to withstand exposure to varying outdoor weather conditions, dust, engine odors, and extreme noise levels.
2. Will be required occasionally to move up to 70 pounds by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise repositioning objects.
3. Close visual acuity to perform detail-oriented activities as well as acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer screen or significant reading of documents and other materials.
4. Fingering and repetitive motions will be required for data entry, while picking items up, filing, or operating office equipment.
5. Able to express or exchange ideas with others accurately through oral communication or by phone and at an audible volume. Able to differentiate between sounds in the environment.
