Customer Storytelling & Content Project Manager (Part-Time)
Description
This role is part-time and estimated to be ~20 hours/week.
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Customer Storytelling & Content Project Manager to support a security-focused customer storytelling initiative. This person will help transform existing customer interview assets into polished, compelling marketing deliverables, including short-form customer videos, written customer stories, quote selections, and customer-facing sales materials.
The ideal candidate is part creative storyteller, part project manager. They should be able to quickly identify the strongest narrative from customer interviews, understand how to align that story to product messaging, and keep multiple assets moving through agency review, stakeholder feedback, and customer approval.
This role does not require advanced video editing skills, but the person should understand video pacing, story structure, content flow, and how to give clear feedback to a video agency. The team already has transcripts, video footage, briefs, interview questions, and message maps available. The primary need is someone who can distill the best story, sharpen the output, and manage the process from draft to approval.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer interview transcripts, briefs, message maps, and video footage to identify the strongest customer storyline.
- Help determine the best 120 seconds of content from longer customer interviews for short-form videos.
- Provide creative direction and feedback on video cuts, including pacing, story flow, key stats, visual graphics, and B-roll opportunities.
- Partner with the external video agency to improve draft work from initial cut to polished final deliverable.
- Use transcripts and interview materials to support written customer stories for web publication.
- Identify and recommend strong customer quotes for approval.
- Determine what content should be included in customer sell sheets or related sales enablement materials.
- Manage multiple customer story asset packages at once, including videos, written stories, quotes, sell sheets, and approval bundles.
- Track asset status, approvals, dependencies, and next steps across approximately 25 customer stories and multiple deliverables per customer.
- Keep agency partners accountable to timelines, quality expectations, and deliverables.
- Bring organization for productivity, not organization for organization’s sake.
- Proactively flag gaps, risks, blockers, and recommendations without waiting to be asked.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The strongest fit will be someone who is a go-getter, moves quickly, and can operate with limited hand-holding. The stakeholder specifically wants someone who can take initiative, make a first pass, and come back with thoughtful recommendations rather than waiting for step-by-step direction.
This person should be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where speed, judgment, and strong execution matter. They should be able to balance creative instincts with project management discipline and should not need heavy oversight to keep work moving.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in customer storytelling, content marketing, case studies, video storytelling, or customer advocacy.
- Strong ability to distill long-form interviews into concise, compelling narratives.
- Understanding of marketing message maps, product messaging, and customer proof points.
- Strong eye for video pacing, story flow, and what makes a customer story compelling.
- Ability to review video cuts and provide actionable feedback to an agency or production partner.
- Strong project management skills, including timeline tracking, asset management, approvals, and stakeholder follow-up.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to manage multiple customer stories and deliverables in parallel.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Comfortable working with AI-enabled workflows or organizing assets that may involve AI tools.
- Comfortable working with technical, security, or enterprise/B2B content.
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Prior experience supporting enterprise technology client(s)
- Experience working with security, cloud, SaaS, cybersecurity, or technical product marketing.
- Experience working with agencies such as video production, creative, or content agencies.
- Familiarity with customer story deliverables, including videos, web stories, quote approvals, and sell sheets.
- Experience with stakeholder management in a fast-paced marketing organization.
- Experience using project trackers, workback schedules, Google Workspace, or similar tools.
- Prior work on customer stories, internal stakeholder stories, launch content, or event-related storytelling.
Working Style Needed
This role needs someone who is:
- Proactive and self-starting.
- Comfortable taking an imperfect draft and making it stronger.
- Able to move quickly without sacrificing quality.
- Organized in a practical, outcome-focused way.
- Comfortable holding agencies accountable.
- Able to make recommendations instead of only reporting status.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Comfortable with ambiguity.
- Strong enough creatively to improve the story, but structured enough to manage approvals.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means the stakeholder is not having to constantly ask for status updates or pull the work forward. The right person will independently review assets, make recommendations, manage agency feedback, bundle deliverables for approval, and keep the overall customer storytelling program moving.
