PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The SR Account Manager oversees the sales department activities that include, but are not limited to, development and implementation of marketing and sales strategies to obtain new business, price negotiations, customer satisfaction, commercial open issues tracking, and assure internal initiatives are coordinated and compiled.  A large amount of time is spent developing basic tracking, implementing general accepted sales and marketing tools that are not in place, and mentoring young inexperienced sales teams.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and implements sales and marketing strategies
  • Monitors commercial activities and open issues lists
  • Meets with customer management on relations or specific issues
  • Develops tracking documents and procedures and internal reports
  • Mentors and develops sales personnel
  • Intervenes on commercial issues, lending support
  • Functions as a director of the sales division or department and typically supervises management personnel and indirectly supervises subordinate staff
  • Performs other duties as necessary

REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and generally seven or more years’ experience in related field ~ OR ~An advanced degree and five or more years experience in related field. Person is a fully experienced professional /expert in areas of responsibility. Certification or license may be required in some areas.

CAPABILITIES / CULTURAL FIT:

Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and / or software. Strong communication (with all levels of the organization), administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs amongst cross functional groups. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.
