Inventory Intern
Description
This is a summer internship for the inventory department at Fernwood Communities. The intern will be responsible for maintaining administrative and operational areas of the inventory, with major emphasis on control and record keeping.
We have an exciting opportunity to learn about procurement and inventory! The pay rate for this role is $18/hour and the typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep records of items entering or leaving the stockroom and inspect for damage.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment owned by the management company.
- Sort, organize, and mark items with identifying code.
- Coordinate all shipments by outside vendors.
- Print all orders and send to warehouse as needed extend orders for shipment.
- Receive, unpack, check, store, and track materials.
- Required to lift cartons of various sizes.
- Keeps work area clean and equipment in good working order.
- Performs duties according to OSHA standards and company safety policies at all times.
- All purchases should follow company policies and will be approved by a manager.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of Excel & Outlook / Experience with Salesforce a plus but not required
- Exceptional customer service and follow-through skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
- Ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written skills
