Position: Shipping Warehouse Supervisor

Location: Kelowna Distribution Center, BC     

The Shipping Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for making sure all replenishments totes are scanned and on proper skids. The skids are packed properly and wrapped with labels. Ensuring the replenishments print or figuring out why they are not and deallocating manually. The supervisor needs to make sure that the replenishments have proper Dangerous goods paperwork and stickers. Making sure the cleaning and closing lists are completed and the 3 subordinates have completed their tasks. Working with the DC services lead to investigate short pick and/or mis picks. Completing 2nd checks and assisting with Quick picks if they are behind.

What you’ll do:     

• Ensure Quick picks are completed within the 10-15 mins and set out for pick up. Communicate with other department heads when addition resources are required to maintain the set standard or give help to other areas if caught up.
• Train new employees and have a succession plan.
• Assist DC services lead with zeros and mis-picks.
• Check in with Store replenishment and quick pick leads to ensure all picks are completed with proper paperwork and TDG’s.
• Check closing check list to make sure warehouse is clean and all duties are completed.
• Answer phone and help stores with questions and book delivery appointments.
• Ensure their team members take their breaks and return from them at their assigned times.
• Look for any unsafe practices or work areas and report them to a Safety Committee member.
• Inspire your team to give our customers and stores the best possible experience each time they interact with the distribution center.
• Assist reporting Leads in identifying, developing, and implementing KPIs for their area with set goals. Ensure all departments consistently meet these KPIs.
• Hold monthly one on one’s with your direct reports to support them and prioritize improvement initiatives.
• Initiate, co-ordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures for all outbound activities within the DC.
• Ensure all orders are picked, packed and shipped accurately and in a timely manner to ensure we meet the daily delivery schedules for them.
• Oversee shipping to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely dispatch of orders. Implement shipping tracking systems to enhance transparency and customer satisfaction.
• Submit a month end report to the DC Manager by the Friday following each month end. Which would include each department stats, goal updates, challenges, successes and staffing updates.
• Perform daily review of short picks and investigate why they were shorted, report missing product to Management.
• Assist DC Services in finding appropriate locations for new products/part numbers in the warehouse based on their physical attributes and movement frequency.
• Ensure the team has all tools required to do their work efficiently IE Toner, paper and boxes, skids/
• Keep current with product knowledge.
• Other duties as assigned.

Goals and Objectives

Do you fit the part?     

• At least 2 years warehouse supervisor experience.
• Familiar with RF scanners, Conveyor systems and leading the work of others.
• Forklift and order picker certifications.
• Must be willing to work as a member of a team and be flexible in undertaking a variety of duties that will contribute to the success of the organization.
• Requires the ability to work with basic computer applications.
• Good math skills and attention to details
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Requires the ability to be organized, multitask, and solve problems.
