Remote-first

At the end of 2021, LegalZoom made the official commitment to being a remote-first company. Remote-first means that there is no expectation that Zoomers come into an office for a fixed number of days outside of those employees identified as essential onsite workers. While we remain a remote-first culture, our local offices have evolved as collaboration spaces for Zoomers to meet and engage in person.

This position will be (remote/or SF Bay Area, LA Metro, and Austin Metro office location/s).

Overview

We are looking for a Vice President of Growth to join the Marketing organization.  This leader will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and be responsible for overseeing the company’s media strategy, planning, buying, budgets, and execution efforts across all of our media channels including search (SEM, SEO, content, editorial), video, digital, social, audio, and television (linear and OTT).   These efforts will be driven by a data-driven leader with a strong business acumen and an understanding of consumer behavior,consumption trends, media channel trends and insights, innovative content delivery mechanisms in the programmatic and performance marketing space, and a strong understanding of search across sem, seo, content and editorial efforts.  The ability to oversee and execute integrated marketing plans and omni-channel approaches to acquisition and engagement of customers is a must.  The role will work with senior leadership to align digital media and paid acquisition efforts with company priorities and then work across the marketing organization to make sure the right creative assets and messages are placed on the right channels to drive customer acquisition, engagement and re-targeting efforts.  This role will work closely with our data and analytics teams, to optimize our media buys, performance, and budgets to meet our financial and business objectives. 

As a Vice President, you will be on the marketing leadership team, and will be a senior leader in the company, responsible for helping to lead teams, foster talent, develop a high performing culture, and role model the values and principles of the organization.

You will

        Partner with the Chief Marketing Officer and other senior leaders to align responsibilities and objectives with overall company strategies and priorities

        Provide ongoing strategic recommendations for optimal campaigns, spend levels and KPI goals for an annual 9-figure paid media budgetContinually monitor macro trends impacting customer behavior, cross-platform and channel consumption trends, as well as search and digital marketing innovations

        Collaborate with various teams across the company to ensure brand communication goals inform a consistent end to end customer experience

        Lead and inspire a team to develop, manage and execute omni-channel media planning, audience targeting, and placement executions focusing on customer acquisition, engagement and re-targeting efforts through optimized efficiency

        Provide ongoing strategic recommendations on customer acquisition, engagement and re-targeting across traditional and emerging media channels including TV/Video, Radio/Audio, Digital, and Social communities

        Lead a team responsible for day-to-day management and execution of paid search, programmatic digital campaigns maintained internally, or thru agencies/vendors

        Translate strategic initiatives into a game plan for rapid execution of flexible media campaigns that are able to be adjusted and optimized in real time to align with goals

        Develop near and long-term media strategies, roadmaps, and oversee day-to-day tactics that increase revenue, site traffic, conversion, margins, and ROAS

        Oversee relationships with search and media agency/vendors to ensure business goals and needs translate to the right go-to-market cross-channel approach

        Utilize outputs from attribution modeling and internal sources to drive data informed reporting and decisions for channel marketing budgeting and forecasting

        Manage coordination of channel branded content, sponsorship, integration efforts

        Research and test emerging technologies and platforms for audience and behavioral targeting and buying

        Provide POV on MarTech tools and platforms to drive performance and optimization

        Manage contractual negotiations and obligations to ensure partnerships are in line with company strategic goals and best interests

        Spearhead continual reporting of key channel KPIs to C-Team, providing data-driven insights to inform recommended actions

 

You have

        15+ years of media planning/buying, and integrated marketing experiences, with a blend of traditional consumer products and direct-to-consumer brands and experiences across omni-channel approaches including digital media, search, tv

        Strong track record of overseeing and managing 9-figure paid media budgets utilizing an omni-channel approach to marketing efforts

        Proven strategic and creative thinker, with strong business acumen, that can inspire, generate and execute on innovative ideas to maximize business performance

        Significant experience working across end to end consumer experiences and full funnel marketing efforts in a data-driven, highly agile and fast-moving environment

        Proven experience growing brand awareness, consumer affinity, revenue and profit for a consumer-facing brand in the direct-to-consumer / technology space

        Strong understanding of data and insights to develop, measure and act on business and product KPIs through a blend of analytical, critical, creative thinking

        Experience working with innovative tools and solutions in the channel marketing space in order to drive better optimization and efficiencies across media channels

        Knowledge of working with media mix models and modeling partners to continue to innovate omni-channel media planning / buying efforts and optimizing accordingly

        Experience overseeing and managing external media planning and buying agencies, search agencies and other partners in the channel marketing space             

        Leadership experience including the ability to build and grow a team and to collaborate and influence teams to drive positive business performance and results

        Strong motivation, presentation and communications skills including experience working closely with senior leadership (c-suite) and speaking at industry events

        Consumer facing, technology-driven DIY products and services experience a plus

        Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus

 

LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is ($168,000-$300,000). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
