Contract Analyst

KAI Partners is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Contract Analyst to support our client. The Contract Analyst is responsible for analyzing the details of contracts to ensure the terms are equitable for the company as well as ensure both parties are properly instructed on the terms and expectations. They will also interpret contractual requirements and collaborate with internal departments on contractual amendments.



  • Review contracts to prevent potential disputes and financial risks
  • Recommend favorable terms with other parties on behalf of our client
  • Analyze contract clauses, stipulations, obligations, and liabilities
  • Recommend and draft contract provisions and amendments
  • Review contract terms and conditions to prevent disputes and financial risk
  • Ensure that contract terms comply with legal requirements and policies
  • Advise internal departments on innovative and cost-effective ways to comply with contractual obligations
  • Recommend options for negotiations for all assigned agreements with moderate management support
  • Keep informed of amendments to contract law
  • Discuss the scope of contracts with management and communicate contract terms to administration
  • Determine contractual disputes or issues and recommend resolutions
  • Review incoming and outgoing contracts for accuracy


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Good time-management skills
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must be extremely thorough and detail oriented
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapting when priorities change
  • Strong knowledge of state government IT contracts


Work/Education Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Contract Analyst in the Information Technology Industry is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, business law, or a related field of study
  • Master's degree or MBA with specialization in contracts preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of local, state (California), and national contract laws
