Solutions Architect
KAI Partners, Inc. (KAIP) is currently seeking a Solutions Architect (SA) to evaluate, plan, implement, and continually improve system-wide architecture strategies that enable clients to realize their strategic goals. SAs deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions that align with business objectives and operational environments. They lead enterprise architecture initiatives across infrastructure, applications, and business processes, ensuring compliance, sustainability, and effective stakeholder engagement. The SA also supports IT modernization, AI-enabled solutions, and technology integration efforts across public sector projects.
Responsibilities
- Execute deep-dive evaluations of current state architectures across client portfolios, including government and higher education environments.
- Conduct gap and risk analyses of technology ecosystems, applications, and infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for optimization.
- Map IT assets and business processes to enterprise architecture governance principles, aligning technology with organizational strategy.
- Develop a comprehensive end-to-end enterprise architecture strategy covering business, data, application, and infrastructure layers.
- Define and document a unified Solution Architecture framework and standards for client adoption, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data governance, cybersecurity, and accessibility standards (ADA, Section 508).
- Provide architecture recommendations for cloud migration, AI-enabled automation, and advanced analytics to improve service delivery.
- Support project planning, implementation, and execution by collaborating with project managers, business analysts, organizational change managers, and data analysts.
- Create risk mitigation strategies and optimization plans for system integration, cross-departmental workflows, and regulatory alignment.
- Evaluate and recommend technology toolsets, platforms, and vendors, including cloud-based and AI-driven solutions.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement sessions, and executive briefings to align solutions with business needs.
- Develop training materials, communications, and knowledge transfer plans to support solution adoption and sustainability.
- Promote alignment, reuse of IT assets, and adoption of best practices in agile development, architecture, and quality assurance.
- Draft roadmaps, budgets, and implementation frameworks for large-scale architecture programs.
- Establish and maintain a governance and continuous improvement process for architecture practices.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and advisory support to improve organizational architecture maturity.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Technically proficient in enterprise architecture concepts, with ability to translate requirements into simplified guidance for executives and stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience creating end-to-end system diagrams using EA tools.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), AI/automation tools, and enterprise integration methods.
- Experience implementing cybersecurity, compliance, and data governance frameworks in large organizations.
- Proven record of delivering highly available, scalable, and secure solutions.
- Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills with ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
Work/Education Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (required).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in enterprise architecture and IT modernization projects.
- Experience leading cloud migration, AI integration, and large-scale system modernization initiatives preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience leading/facilitating teams and cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience in government, higher education, or public sector consulting engagements strongly preferred.
Compensation Range: $115,000 - $150,000
The salary range for this role may vary depending on the specific geographic location where this position is ultimately filled. Several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, and certifications, pay equity, and organizational needs, are considered when determining the posted salary range. In addition, eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
