Network Engineer
KAI Partners is currently seeking a motivated, flexible, and experienced Network Engineer to support our client remotely. The Network Engineer will support the technical design, installation, change management, monitoring, and maintaining our client’s distributed network and computer systems. This position requires excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and deliver secure, creative, value-driven solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customers with a sense of urgency.
- Establishes VPN, LAN, WAN, and DMZ specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
- Continually improves the networks by monitoring and evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
- Analyzes and implements network security measures and monitors for cybersecurity threats.
- Assign network addresses and implement protocols.
- Adhere to agency information security policies and procedures.
- Provide as-needed technical assistance if requested by the Infrastructure Manager and/or Chief Information Officer to assist the Help Desk Team.
- Secures the networks by developing and implementing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation systems.
- Maintains system documentation and network diagrams to maintain current network architecture configurations.
- Administers routers, switches, firewalls, phones (VoIP), smartphones, security updates, and patches.
- Maintains network facilities in all machines, such as drivers and settings of personal devices and printers.
- Maintains network servers such as file servers, VPN Gateways, and intrusion detection systems.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Maintains the inventory of equipment and parts as well as documentation of configurations, standards, and vendor activities.
- Maintains the highest level of organizational confidentiality through adherence to agency policies and procedures.
- Able to troubleshoot VoIP issues and work with providers to resolve end-user problems.
- Work with ISP to identify cost-effective solutions.
- Able to address after-hours issues as needed (weekend work is possible if necessary to avoid end-user disruption).

Work/Education Experience:
- Five years of experience.
- Administration Experience.
- Experience with designing and configuring high-availability devices.
- CompTIA Network+. (Required)
- CompTIA A+. (minimum required)
- Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA). (Preferred)
- Cisco Certified Network Operations (CCNP). (Preferred)
- CompTIA Security+. (Preferred)
Compensation Range: $86,000 - $110,000
The salary range for this role may vary depending on the specific geographic location where this position is ultimately filled. Several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, certifications, pay equity, and organizational needs, are considered when determining the posted salary range. In addition, eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
