Cyber Security Engineer

KAI Partners is currently seeking a Cyber Security Engineer who will be primarily responsible for designing and implementing solutions for client and customer projects, such as but not limited to server migrations and upgrades, firewall implementations, implementation of Microsoft cloud services, etc. Additionally, a successful candidate can identify and implement security best practices that meet the customers' business needs. Last, the Cyber Security Engineer may provide support to the managed services teams within the organization to help resolve escalated service issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, scope, implement, and manage solutions that meet client business needs.
  • Assess networks, systems, and solutions for best practices and security/compliance alignment.
  • Responsible for maintaining technical and information security currency in alignment with business goals.
  • Research new technology, evaluate viability, and present to team/s for lab build/testing and client sales integration.
  • Provide expert-level consulting services during pre-sales, sales, and engineering calls.
  • Document all project tasks and procedures and provide peer review of team documentation.
  • Troubleshoot issues presented by clients, present findings, and provide remediation guidance.
  • Maintain project timelines, budgets, and expectations.
  • Proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding project roadblocks, timelines, or other issues, as they arise.
  • Provide basic project management services and client communications when needed.
  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to team members and other staff, including updates and guidance on internal procedures.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining vendor partnerships, certifications, and relationships.
  • Leading by example in all cases, with co-workers, and with clients.
  • Take ownership of tasks assigned and tasks that need to be assigned.
  • Participate in internal meetings and complete other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional understanding of confidentiality.
  • Must successfully pass a Washington State background check.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented.
  • Able to work in and with a team, lead one, or work independently.
  • Understanding of HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, PCI DSS, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, and EU General Data Protection Regulation Compliance.
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of networking principles and techniques including but not limited to – OSI/TCP IP Model, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, 802.1x, VLANs, iSCSI, Firewalls / Security, switching, ISP setup, and debugging.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL and Database usage and functionality.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Exchange on-premise builds, management, maintenance, and various migration tracks.
  • Experience with PowerShell and scripting techniques.
  • Well-versed in Virtualization (Cloud, Hyper-V, and/or VMWare).

Work/Education Experience:

  • BS/BA in an Information Technology field, or relevant certifications and work experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of Systems Engineering experience.
  • Two years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Windows Server-based solutions.
  • Two years of experience implementing, migrating, managing, and configuring Azure AD, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Skype, OneDrive, and other Microsoft Cloud solutions.
  • Two years of experience with Active Directory and Group Policy design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and migrations in multi-client environments.
  • Three years of IT consulting experience is required, preferably with enterprise-level clients.
  • Two years of Cisco Umbrella/Full Cisco Stack experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation Range: $96,000-$150,000

The salary range for this role may vary depending on the specific geographic location where this position is ultimately filled. Several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, certifications, pay equity, and organizational needs, are considered when determining the posted salary range. In addition, eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
