The Opportunity:
JumpCrew is seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Director to build and lead our human resources function. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be instrumental in shaping our company culture, attracting and retaining top talent, and ensuring a positive and productive work environment. This is a hands-on role in a lean and agile organization, requiring a strategic thinker who is also comfortable with day-to-day execution. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of HR activities, playing a critical role in our continued growth and success.
Responsibilities:
  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives. Provide insightful advice and guidance to the leadership team on all HR-related matters.  
  • Payroll Management: Oversee and manage the company's payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. 
  • Benefits Administration: Manage all aspects of employee benefits programs, including research, selection, implementation, enrollment, and ongoing administration. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment. Address employee concerns, conduct investigations, and provide guidance on conflict resolution and performance management issues. Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Offboarding: Manage the offboarding process in a professional and compliant manner.
  • Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management processes that drive employee development, provide constructive feedback, and align individual goals with company objectives.
  • HR Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain clear and compliant HR policies and procedures. Ensure consistent application and communication across the organization.
  • HR Compliance: Stay up-to-date on relevant federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. Ensure the company's HR practices are in compliance.
  • HR Systems and Technology: Evaluate and manage HR technology platforms (HRIS) to streamline HR processes and improve efficiency.
  • Culture and Engagement: Champion and cultivate a positive and high-performing company culture. Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and morale.
  • HR Reporting and Analytics: Develop and analyze HR metrics to track key performance indicators and provide data-driven insights to the leadership team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus.  
  • 5 + years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within a startup or small to medium-sized business environment.
  • Proven experience managing all aspects of HR, including payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Experience with HRIS platforms and other HR technology.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
