Description

JumpCrew is looking for two interns to work in the editorial department for its Military Brands business unit. The Military Brands business unit at JumpCrew includes multiple websites dedicated to helping service members and their families navigate the unique challenges and opportunities that come with the lifestyle. Interns will work closely with our editorial team, learning the intricacies of digital publishing from the conception of an idea, to the scheduling, and publication of a fully executed and optimized article. 


You’ll receive full supervision and training in all tools and processes through our editorial staff. The Assistant Editor of Military Brands will supervise your progress throughout the course of your internship. You’ll also benefit from a carefully curated series of educational sessions and progress check-ins with the Managing Editor. If requested by the school, an end-of-semester internship evaluation will be provided by JumpCrew’s editorial staff. Note: this must be requested at the beginning of the semester. 


Our ideal candidate is someone with:


  • Superb writing and self-editing skills. 
  • The ability to complete 8 articles per week. 
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and strategies or the drive to learn. 
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects at once. 
  • The drive to succeed, build out credits in digital publishing, and contribute to the mission of the organization while truly helping active duty service members, veterans, and their families. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Pitching headlines and article ideas daily. 
  • Attendance at morning editorial team meetings. 
  • Writing a minimum of 8 articles per week. 
  • Building articles for scheduling inside of our CMS system. 
  • SEO optimization for each and every piece of content created. 
  • Periodically writing content for marketing and sales assets like newsletters, paid ad campaigns, social media posts, and more. 

Must haves:

  • Personal computer with a reliable internet connection. 
  • Ability to coordinate with supervisor and team and set a weekly schedule. 
  • Access to Slack for team communication. 
  • Access to Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet). 
  • Ability to work 10+ hours per week for 16 weeks.
