Safety Specialist - Part-Time
Description
Summary:
The Safety Specialist will manage Safety Assurance functions within the SMS program and is responsible for collecting and evaluating audit results, entering the results into the SMS, analyzing trends, and preparing safety reports for the leadership team. The Safety Specialist serves as the initial point of contact for supporting compliance activities related to FAA inspector oversight and external audit agencies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducts and/or assists with department, facility, LOSA, and IEP audits.
- Analyzes the SMS implementation for Flight Operations, Base Operations, Maintenance, Flight Coordination and Off-Fleet Partner Operations.
- Creates and implements processes for Off-Fleet Partner Operators to get approved to fly Jet Linx Jet Card, Clients.
- Conduct and manages initial, recurrent, and Off-Fleet audits.
- Organize and Lead any onsite audits for Off-Fleet Operators.
- Conduct and manage Jet Linx Base audits – done through a combination of Base Self audits, LOSA components and spot auditing,
- Create and maintain audit reports, tracking system & findings from both onsite vendor audits and Jet Linx Base audits
- Main point of contact for all 3rd party auditors.
- Lead the information collection and audit preparation for all 3rd party audits.
- Responsible for ensuring any open items from 3rd party audits are followed up on and documented complete for satisfaction of receiving said certification.
- Coordinate and assist hosting the ARGUS, Wyvern, IS-BAO, EJM and all other audits.
- Function as the audit specialist and analyst with responsibilities to include: Support external agencies conducting audits, document results within SMS and evaluate post-audit feedback for trends; Assist in development, implementation, and execution of self-audits at the base level; Administer supplemental lift providers desk-top audits, set scheduled follow up audit cadence, and lead onsite audit as needed; Document procedures and findings and establish need for follow-up and on internal, external, SLP and 3rd party audits; Analyze and provide reporting of results and trends to leadership and relevant external agencies; Ensure required corrective actions are responded to by appropriate department head. Evaluate and document results of subsequent auditing within the SMS;
- Prepare quarterly reports on safety assurance trends to the Jet Linx Executive team utilizing SMS Safety Risk Management risk ratings, incident/accident investigation findings, and safety assurance audits/surveys.
- Administer the Internal Evaluation Program, prepare reports on results and trends. Revise the IEP program as necessary to reflect changes to applicable regulations.
- Conduct periodic base audits for OSHA standards and work with bases to correct findings in a timely manner.
- Evaluate compliance of employee completion rates in required safety-related training sessions.
- Function as the ASAP trending analyst with duties to include: Categorize reporting to establish trends related to safety performance within the organization; Set benchmarks for safety performance using ASIAS to compare Jet Linx performance against other PT 135 ASAP submitters; Partner with leadership team to establish safety assurance activities when systemic issues are identified.
- Serve as Safety Committee Administrator coordinating quarterly meetings, presenting upon trends and analysis from data collected, conducting post-meeting check ins, and working with Base Safety Managers to ensure proper execution of safety assurance activities.
- Regular and predictable on-site attendance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the company and its customers
- Self-motivated and willingness to take initiative to research and resolve problems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, FOS, and VOCUS Safety SMS software
- Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, and initiative
- Knowledgeable of OSHA standards
- Analytical experience in comparing data and trending using Excel or other software platform
- Ability to graph trends and present data visually
- Ability to travel to out-of-state sites as needed
- Operate office equipment as needed
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or aviation safety, or similar experience
- 2+ years of experience with Part 135/91 operations and safety experience required
- 1+ years of Compliance/Safety/OSHA-related management experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Majority of work is completed in a normal office work environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Able to complete physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, talking, and hearing to perform daily work functions
- Must be able to move up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis
Documentation Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a U.S. driver's license
- Proof of eligibility to work in the US
Compensation:

Actual base salary provided is dependent upon geographic location, aircraft size (crew positions), relevant education, training and experience of the candidate.
