The Windows Sr. Systems Engineer 1 will work in our Bangalore office that supports our complex infrastructure Windows servers of which are Windows based, which support the Enterprise, non-Enterprise (i.e. specific to Stores) and Digital Platform applications that power our Retail operations. In this dynamic role you will be responsible for maintaining the existing IT infrastructure and our upcoming cloud technologies as an in-house SME

This role you will be report to Senior Manager – Technology Operations and Support and will be part of the team that is

Primary Responsibilities:

• Install/Configure/Troubleshoot on Windows Server Operating Systems, HyperV, VMware VDI infrastructure
• Windows administration, AD, DNS, DHCP, Fileshare.
• Maintain scripts in PowerShell and python to help automate ESXi builds and management
• Work with senior engineers to develop cloud solutions for virtualization opportunities
• Good to have Horizon VDI admin experience
• Patching, Technology Refresh and Service improvement iniatives.

 Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience with VMware virtualization stack in support of multiple operating systems

• Provide Enterprise virtualization capability to install, configure and manage a highly available and scalable virtual infrastructure.
• Experience in managing Windows Server infrastructure on both Virtual and Physical platforms.
• Installation, configuration and administration of Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022 servers. Knowledge of supporting legacy Operating systems such as Windows 2003/2008/2012.
• Experience on AD, DHCP, DNS, IIS, Windows clustering, Hyper-V.
• Experience in central management of Hosts & VM’s through ESXi / vSphere vCenter Server and vSphere Web client.
• Management of virtual machines, resource pools and monitoring of VM’s and ESXi servers (CPU, Memory, Disk and Network Utilization).
• Performing V-Motion of virtual machines, Template creations and Cloning of Virtual Machines.
• Creation of snapshots, fixing the disk consolidation issues.
• Good understanding on HA, DRS clusters and experience in firmware upgrades.
• Experience in Installing VMware Tools to large group of VMs, monitoring and taking necessary actions on tasks, events and alarms
• Troubleshoot VM issues related to vMotion, resource utilization etc.
• Managing and troubleshooting Hardware related issues on windows servers which are hosted on  Dell, Cisco hardware.
• Managing and monitoring the VMware View environment and keeping all the VDI’s pools up to date with patches and installing the required softwares.
• Creation of Golden images for VMware horizon view Instant Clones.
• Creation of AppStacks and Provisioning of applications to VDI pools using App Volumes.
• Good understanding on VMware Horizon View Infrastructure components.
• Configuring and maintaining Virtual Desktop Pools in Horizon View.
• Monitoring the VDI Environment which includes Desktop pools, Data Stores vCenters and proactively taking necessary steps.
• Troubleshooting issues related to patching, application install etc in VMware Horizon View.
• Managing the user profile management using UEM in VDI Environment.
• Experience in managing Desktop Pools created from Instant Clones.

• Must be Open for shifts and weekend on-call support
• Adopting emerging technologies (e.g. IaaS/PaaS),DevOps,Agile etc.
• Managing problem resolution and escalations
• Communicating issues to stakeholders and team members
• Analyzing trends to provide predictive/proactive root cause analysis
• Researching and recommending alternative actions for problem resolution with minimal direction
• Good practical knowledge of ITSM/ITIL process.

Good to Have:

• SOX/PCI Compliance, to keep the servers in compliance and remediate issues to Compliance Team
• Participating in system testing and implementation of components
• Ensuring functional and technical integrity of infrastructure designs
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
