About the Role:

IPSY is searching for a talented, creative, experienced content strategist and writer to lead copy across all of IPSY’s member touchpoints. The ideal candidate has an immense passion for beauty and brands, fantastic storytelling capability, and writing expertise across rich media formats ranging from social media, email, site, video to print, and more. This person is insatiably curious and fearless in their editorial sensibility but also obsessively attentive to detail and organized in their thinking.

The Sr. Editorial Manager will report to the Creative Director, manage a team of Beauty Editors and Copywriters, and work closely with business partners in Design & Photo, Video, Social, Channel Marketing, Merchandising, Brand Operations, and Product. This person wants to be part of an exceptional team and has fun delivering compelling original content. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Oversees the writing of long-form and short-form copy for brands/products across key programs  
  • Oversees the development of all multimedia content (including recorded and live video, photography, and visual how-to instruction) for brands/products across key programs
  • Manages and mentors a team of Beauty Editors and Copywriters and provides direction, guidance, and inspiration
  • Contributes innovative, breakthrough ideas towards the growth of the company and an improved member experience. Embraces and explores new platforms and forms of communication
  • Owns editorial calendar, process, and workflow in conjunction with a master content calendar
  • Manages a full range of editorial services, including writing, editing, proofing, fact-checking, and consistency of copy
  • Serve as a guardian of our brand voice and tone for IPSY, driving discipline and consistency in voice, tone, and language across IPSY marketing and promotion

What We’re Looking For

  • 8-10 years experience generating unique, creative, editorial concepts and writing editorial copy for beauty, fashion, or women’s lifestyle brands (portfolio required for a review)
  • Deep passion for beauty, storytelling, and brands is a must
  • Exceptional skill in managing, coaching, and inspiring an editorial/writing team; a “doer” who likes to get out his/her pen and write
  • Extensive experience in messaging across rich media formats including email, commerce, social, and video, as well as print. Obsessed with driving audience engagement and delivering results  
  • Proven ability to identify and understand emerging trends in communications to stay relevant with the audience
  • Ability to multi-task and hustle in a fluid fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the rest of the Creative team and cross-functional partners
  • Experience with budgeting, planning, resourcing
  • Obsessive attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree required
