SAP ABAP Workflow Senior Consultant
Hiring Location: India (Delhi/Hyderabad/Mumbai/Noida/Pune)
Summary
The SAP ABAP Workflow Senior Consultant is a key role within the SAP team. This role provides expertise in the design, development, and enhancement of SAP workflows to support complex business processes across multiple functions. This position requires in-depth technical and functional knowledge of SAP Workflow and the ability to guide junior team members and collaborate with senior business stakeholders. The Senior SAP Workflow Consultant will also drive process improvements, best practices, and workflow architecture decisions within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and configuration of advanced SAP workflows to meet complex business requirements.
- Serve as a technical architect, providing expertise in SAP workflow frameworks, best practices, and scalable solutions.
- Review and validate design specifications created by other team members, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.
- Identify and implement workflow optimizations to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and improve process visibility.
- Regularly review workflows to align with changing business needs and regulatory requirements.
- Lead workshops and brainstorming sessions with business process owners to identify automation opportunities and streamline operations.
- Act as a project leader on workflow-related initiatives, coordinating with project teams and managing timelines, deliverables, and resources.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior SAP Workflow consultants and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Develop and enforce best practices for SAP Workflow design, documentation, and testing.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and functional SAP module owners (e.g., MM, SD, FI, HR) to ensure seamless integration of workflows across modules.
- Act as the main point of contact for workflow-related matters, providing clear communication with stakeholders to understand requirements and set expectations.
- Work with external consultants or vendors to bring in additional expertise or support for complex projects.
- Lead workflow-related testing and validation during SAP upgrades, patches, and system migrations, ensuring continued functionality.
- Ensure all workflows are compliant with industry regulations, internal policies, and security requirements.
- Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate the smooth adoption of new workflows or workflow updates.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of detailed workflow documentation, including configuration guides, process flow diagrams, and training materials.
- Provide regular reports and insights on workflow performance, issue resolution, and automation benefits to management.
- Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible for future troubleshooting and training needs.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 6-8 years of experience in one or more SAP modules.
- Expertise in SAP Workflow, SAP ABAP, and a strong understanding of at least one SAP module (e.g., MM, SD, FI, HR).
- Advanced knowledge of SAP Fiori, SAP S/4HANA, and integration tools such as SAP PI/PO.
- Experience with SAP BPM (Business Process Management) and SAP BRF+ (Business Rule Framework Plus).
- Proficiency in business process mapping and SAP workflow monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies is preferred.
- Knowledge of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and other automation tools is desirable.
- SAP Certified Development Specialist or SAP S/4HANA certification preferred.
