Senior Technical Project Manager

Job ID 2026-1277

Technology El Segundo, California

Description

We are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to join our Product Development Organization. We drive cross-functional alignment, create process efficiencies, and deliver large-scale strategic initiatives in a rapidly growing Legal Technology space — with a specific focus on the backend systems that power lead distribution, intake, quality, and routing at scale.
In this role, you will embed directly with the engineering teams building and evolving the platforms at the core of our leads business: systems that handle real-time lead intake, quality filtering, dynamic routing logic, third-party integrations, and downstream delivery. You are not a coordinator sitting outside the work — you are a technical partner who engages in architecture discussions, reviews data flows, anticipates failure modes, and drives clarity when things get complex. You move fast, operate with ownership, and know how to make progress without waiting to be told where the problems are.
You will have proven experience driving backend platform initiatives across engineering, product, and business operations, and are skilled at building the kind of trust with engineers that earns you a seat in the room for hard technical decisions. You bring a track record of delivering medium to large projects using agile methodologies and you show good judgment making trade-offs between speed and long-term system health.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Own end-to-end program planning and execution for backend platform initiatives — including distributed system feature development, platform consolidation, and multi-system integration workstreams. You define the plan, identify the risks, and are accountable for the outcome.
  • Lead discovery and prioritization with product and engineering to translate business goals into executable program plans. Drive alignment on scope, sequencing, and trade-offs — including when to defer, when to parallelize, and when to push back.
  • Develop and maintain project milestones, manage cross-team dependencies, lead resource conversations, and run communications that give stakeholders the right information at the right level of detail — from engineering standups to leadership reviews.
  • Proactively surface and remove impediments before they become blockers. Identify gaps in ownership, lead issue resolution across teams, and keep multiple parallel workstreams moving without losing thread on any of them.
  • Engage substantively in technical design — review system architecture proposals, data flow diagrams, and API integration specs. Ensure that requirements are fully translated into technical decisions and that those decisions are traceable through to deployment.
  • Coordinate integration and onboarding work with external partners and downstream systems, including CRM integrations and client-facing delivery pipelines. Serve as the TPM point of contact for technical onboarding activities, ensuring smooth handoffs and clear acceptance criteria.
  • Define, track, and report on project and system health metrics — including delivery velocity, integration success rates, and platform reliability. Build dashboards and reporting practices that make the team's work visible to the business.
  • Maintain engagement during production incidents relevant to your programs — understand system behavior under failure, contribute to postmortems, and own the follow-through on remediation workstreams.
  • Communicate risks, progress, launches, and retrospectives consistently and transparently across all stakeholders — calibrating technical depth to your audience without losing accuracy.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of technical project management experience working directly and daily with software engineering teams — not adjacent to them.
  • 5+ years at a technology company, preferably one where backend services, data pipelines, or API-driven platforms are central to the product.
  • 3+ years leading backend software development projects end-to-end, with demonstrable examples of managing scope, schedule, dependencies, and risk across multi-team programs.
  • Proven ability to engage technically: you can read a system diagram, follow an API spec, participate meaningfully in architecture reviews, and identify issues in a proposed technical design.
  • Proven track record delivering complex, cross-functional programs — especially those involving platform migrations, system integrations, or consolidation of distributed services.
  • Familiarity with lead management or marketplace-style platform concepts — intake, validation, routing logic, quality filtering, or multi-channel delivery — is a strong plus, but not required.
  • Experience with CRM systems in an integration context: you understand how data flows between platforms, what makes integrations brittle, and how to manage technical onboarding with downstream partners.
  • BS/BA required, preferably in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Scrum Master, Scaled Agilist, or PMP certification.
  • Experience working in organizations where engineering, product, data/analytics, revenue operations, and business operations all have a stake in the same platform — and where getting alignment requires more than a well-run standup.
  • Demonstrated experience owning program strategy end-to-end and communicating results — including trade-offs, delays, and failures — to senior leadership without filtering or spin.
  • Comfort engaging with monitoring, observability, and alerting tooling as a TPM — not to own it, but to use it to stay informed about system health and proactively flag risks.
  • Experience managing technical onboarding or implementation programs with external clients or partners, including coordinating acceptance testing and integration validation.
  • Prior experience in a large-scale software development organization where platform-level decisions have broad downstream consequences.
