Insurity’s Next Vice President, Development Excellence
We are looking for an experienced leader to join us as the Vice President, Development Excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership, innovation, and oversight of all Insurity products to inform and develop insights and strategies for operational and business initiatives and align the product vision with the company’s strategy.
 
What our VP, Development Excellence
  • Act as a fractional engineering leader across the product portfolio; provide architectural oversight, guidance on engineering best practices, and technical leadership to product area leads and their engineering organizations
  • Establish and enforce engineering excellence standards covering SDLC quality, defect prevention, observability, reliability, and performance 
     
  • Assess the technical health of each product through systematic audits (architecture, code quality, incident data, SLAs, on-call hygiene, CI/CD pipelines) and partner with product engineering teams to implement improvements 
     
  • Serve as a thought partner to individual product areas, advising on scalability, platform modernization, technical debt prioritization, and long-term architectural direction 
     
     
  • Monitor production stability across all products, identifying early warning indicators and driving cross-team initiatives to prevent outages and reduce incident recurrence 
     
     
  • Intervene in high-risk areas by diagnosing root causes of systemic issues, designing corrective action plans, and ensuring execution  
     
  • Partner closely with product areas to ensure technical strategy aligns with business priorities and customer commitments. 
     
  • Evaluate backend architecture and infrastructure, recommending modernization efforts (microservices, cloud-native patterns, CI/CD automation, dev-enablement tooling, observability, etc.). 
     
  • Mentor engineering managers and technical leads, improving their ability to manage complexity, root-cause deeply, estimate accurately, and run high-performing teams. 
     
  • Provide executive-level reporting and insights on engineering effectiveness, technical risks, and cross-portfolio opportunities to improve performance, quality, and efficiency. 
Who We Are Looking For 
  • Recommended:
    • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role, while managing multiple team members across multiple products
    • 15+ years of experience in customer-facing roles
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Strategic vision and innovative mindset.
  • Advanced understanding of product trends
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities; data centric and savvy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and people in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with a passion for driving innovation and staying ahead of market trends.
  • A team player with an upbeat and positive attitude. 
  • Strong product focused, organizational and communication/presentation skills.
  • Highly skilled at coaching and growing teams
  • Proven track record of execution and delivery
  • Travel: 25%-40%

    We have five Core Values at Insurity; one of which is to Act with Integrity.  Providing pay transparency helps you make the best decision for you.  We continuously analyze and update our salary ranges for our roles according to market trends to not only ensure our employees are paid fairly, but also help close gender, race, and disability wage gaps.  Along with the benefits listed above, the salary range for this role is $175,000 - $250,000, commensurate with experience. We share a career level salary as a guideline; however, actual salary may vary based on your experience and qualifications.
