Insurity’s Next Software Engineer II

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Software Engineer II to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing robust software solutions for both customer-facing applications and internal tools. This role demands not only technical excellence but also a strong ability to collaborate across departments and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our software ecosystem.

 

What Our Software Engineer II Will Do

  • Design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance existing software tools, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and operations, to define software requirements and specifications.
  • Review and refactor code, adhering to best practices in software development and maintaining high standards of code quality.
  • Lead and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to provide insights and recommendations for the adoption of new tools and methodologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing effective and timely solutions to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Document technical specifications and processes to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency in software development practices.

 

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in software development, with demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining complex software applications.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (C#, Java, Python) and frameworks (especially .NET) commonly used in software development.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
  • Very strong understanding of APIs, including designing, building, and consuming RESTful and SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with modern development practices, including agile methodologies, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality code.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, capable of working effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure) and DevOps practices is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with building custom solutions on Salesforce (Apex) or similar SaaS ecosystems.
  • Experience with building solutions using no-code/low-code solutions such as integrations between cloud systems (Workato).
