Insurity’s Next Software Engineer II
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative developer who thrives on solving complex problems and delivering high-quality software solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently while contributing to a team environment, reviewing peer work, and participating in the full SDLC process from estimation to deployment. The individual will learn about and deliver solutions for the Property & Casualty Insurance space.
What Our Software Engineer II Will Do
Participate in SDLC estimation and development processes
Design
- Design solutions to problems/defects with minimal supervision
After 18 Months:
- Able to understand and develop use cases to supplement business cases for technical development items
Development
- Follows Insurity standards for coding, documentation, and impact assessments
- Provides first level of technical troubleshooting and defect remediation for customer, BA, and QA reported problems
- Develop and present solutions for assigned problems and enhancements (basic to moderate complexity)
After 18 Months:
- Develop technical documentation for software solutions for targeted audience
- Develop solutions for simple to moderately complex problems and enhancements individually
- Estimate projects and solutions of simple to moderate complexity
Test
- Write code and unit tests according to Insurity standards, following an approved technical solution, for simple enhancements and bug fixes
- Develop unit tests for code changes and assigned use cases
After 18 Months:
- Partner with QA to identify impact and assist with test case development
Documentation
- Able to comment code
- Create an impact assessment doc
- Stay up-to-date on industry and job-related trends and best practices, including reading relevant publications, articles, blogs, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Who We’re Looking For
- 4–6 years of software development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong understanding of SDLC processes and coding standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Skills in designing and implementing solutions with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with unit testing and impact assessments.
- Recommended experience with .NET 8, Angular, SQL Server Databases.
- Bonus Experience: Azure DevOps, Terraform, YAML
