Insurity’s Next AI Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Software Engineer II to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing robust software solutions for both customer-facing applications and internal tools. This role demands not only technical excellence but also a strong ability to collaborate across departments and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our software ecosystem. This role is focused specifically on developing solutions for our Enterprise AI Operations team and is an exciting opportunity work with modern AI tools and help guide the development of AI tools and standards for the entire organization.

What Our AI Software Engineer Will Do

• Design, develop, and implement tooling and infrastructure for creating high-quality AI agents and models that meet the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders.
• Create automated pipelines for continuous integration, retraining, and deployment (MLOps).
• Create AI standards for the enterprise internal AI strategy.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and operations, to define AI development standards, requirements and specifications.
• Enrich applications with machine learning and AI capabilities.
• Build AI solutions using AI tools in vendor environments such as Salesforce (Agentforce), Jira (Rovo) and other SaaS solutions.
• Design and execute model training runs for LLMs, fine-tuning models for internal use cases.
• Identify and Implement AI features that enhance downstream machine learning models.
• Measure model performance using accuracy, perplexity, scoring and custom business KPIs and track performance in production to design retraining strategies based on user feedback or drift.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to provide insights and recommendations for the adoption of new tools and methodologies in the AI space.
• Document technical specifications and processes to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency in software development practices.
• Lead and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Who We’re Looking For
 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, with demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining complex software applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages, libraries and frameworks commonly used in AI-related software development.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Very strong understanding of APIs, including designing, building, and consuming RESTful and SOAP APIs.  
• Experience with modern development practices, including agile methodologies, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality code.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, capable of working effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure) and DevOps practices is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with building custom solutions with vendor-provided AI tools such as  Salesforce (Agentforce), Jira (Rovo) or similar SaaS ecosystems.
• Experience with building solutions using no-code/low-code solutions between cloud systems (Workato).
• Profound Knowledge of AI technologies, including machine learning techniques and large language models.
• Desire to learn new technologies and skills. This position will provide many opportunities to leverage your existing technology skills and experience to work with modern cloud-based tools and AI technology. This is an exciting position for someone ready to expand their skills.
