Insurity’s Next Vice President, Data Science 
We are looking for an analytics superstar to join us as the Vice President of Data Science for Insurity Analytics. In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership, innovation, and oversight using data science to inform and develop insights and strategies for operational and business initiatives for insurers.    
 
What our VP, Data Science Will Do 
  • Help Insurity innovate mathematically and build the next generation of analytical innovation for insurers
  • Lead a team of data scientists, statisticians, and mathematicians within Insurity Analytics
  • Lead innovation using our $109 billion data consortium; build the consortium further for more lines of business
  • Develop new AI/ML based products that substantially decrease the loss-ratio or improve operations at insurers
  • Lead our Data-as-a-Service offering; utilize advanced statistical/AI techniques to create high-performing predictive models that address business objectives and client needs
  • Make analytics a key differentiator for Insurity and embed analytics, AI, and ML across Insurity’s large product portfolio of 30+ software products
  • Be a technical leader for the data science team, helping institute best practices (coding standards, automated testing, scalability) and growing the technical capabilities of the team. 
  • Partner with the technology leadership team to create a long-term vision and develop a roadmap of data science projects 
  • Serve as a champion for data science and informed decision-making at all levels of the company. Make analytical techniques approachable and understandable to non-data scientists. 
  • Ensure data best practices and play a critical role in building a data-driven culture throughout the entire organization
  • Foster career growth and provide thoughtful mentorship to develop employees at varying levels of experience.
  • Work with cross-functional partners and executives in product, engineering, operations, finance, and marketing to define and achieve business goals, and to build data-informed business strategy and roadmaps.
  • Determine how to leverage data science, machine learning, and other analytical techniques to improve product features and capabilities. Provide leadership on how to leverage data and data expertise to improve the customer experience.
  • Develop analytical frameworks, models, roadmaps, and metrics for the team and broader organization.
Who We Are Looking For 
  • Must have built, tested, and deployed statistical models
  • Must be deeply familiar with the latest quantitative analysis techniques including gradient boosting, deep learning, Bayesian analysis, among others
  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role, while managing multiple team members
  • 15+ years of experience in customer-facing roles. 
  • Highly skilled at coaching and growing teams 
  • Proven track record of execution and delivery
  • Data and analytics experience in insurance domain  
  • Travel: 20%-40%

We have five Core Values at Insurity; one of which is to Act with Integrity. Providing pay transparency helps you make the best decision for you. We continuously analyze and update our salary ranges for our roles according to market trends to not only ensure our employees are paid fairly, but also help close gender, race, and disability wage gaps. Along with the benefits listed above, the salary range for this role is $220,000 - $283,000, commensurate with experience.
