Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Project Manager. This role is pivotal in developing a Circular Economy Action Plan for the Norte region of Portugal. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent organisational and communication skills, capable of managing diverse tasks. This position is framed by project Frontsh1p (Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under grant agreement No. 101037031).

 

Job Duties

 

The job duties will be the following:

  • Building a Circular Economy Action Plan for the Norte region of Portugal based on the methodology defined in the Frontsh1p project and on the needs of the Stakeholders of the Norte region;
  • Mapping of the existing networks for the valorisation of the waste generated by both the agrifood and the plastics ecosystems;
  • Supporting actively the engagement of relevant actors in the region;
  • Identifying innovation schemes, facilitating industrial exploitation, empowering public buyers and improving consumers’ understanding and acceptance of circular and climate-neutral services and products;
  • Defining dissemination actions targeting citizens and industry;
  • Defining training and skills development initiatives;
  • Supporting the creation of policy recommendations to scale up the actions of the Circular Economy Action Plan at inter-regional and national levels;
  • Supporting the promotion of a platform for dialogue and cooperation between stakeholders, with the goal of identifying, nurturing and strengthening synergies

 

Mandatory Qualifications

 

Education

  • University degree in Science or Engineering, in a field related to the project scope (i.e., environment, materials, waste management/treatment, sustainability).

 

Experience

  • Experience in project management, preferably in a research or academic environment;
  • Experience in organising events, workshops, or meetings, including logistical planning and stakeholder engagement;

 

Technical Skills

  • Good computer literacy and skills;
  • Portuguese proficiency (written and verbal), since the project is developed in collaboration with multiple local stakeholders;
  • English proficiency (written and verbal), as all documentation will be prepared in English and for participation in meetings with international partners.

 

Personal Skills

  • “Hands-on” approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines;
  • Problem Solving ability;
  • Customer orientation;
  • Ability to work as a team player;
  • Good communication skills.

How the Selection Process works
 

A. Applications eligibility check

B. CV Assessment

The Selection Committee will evaluate the eligible applications based on their CV and other submitted documents and the suitability for the position. The best ranked candidates will be shortlisted for the interview stage(s).


C. Interview(s)

The interview(s) may be done in different formats: video recording, online or onsite.

The question based interview will evaluate the match between the candidate’s profile and the requirements for the position, including the technical and personal skills. To better support this stage, the candidate may be requested to prepare a short presentation.

 

D. Nomination
