Software Architect - Near Real Time Security Systems

 

Role Overview:
As a Software Architect at Imperva, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the company's Application Security strategy. You will lead the development of Imperva's next-generation Web Application Firewall (WAF) security engine, contributing to the core features of Imperva's security products. This role offers the opportunity to lead innovation in Real-Time security platforms, collaborate closely with engineering teams, and drive key design decisions to ensure Imperva remains at the forefront of the cybersecurity industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of Imperva’s next-generation WAF security engine, driving the execution of the Application Security strategy.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies for integration into the company’s product suite.
  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex, high-performance solutions, focusing on scalability and reliability.
  • Mentor engineering teams to foster solid engineering principles, professional growth, and uphold engineering values.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to drive key design decisions and represent engineering values.
  • Continuously learn and evaluate new technologies to enhance product offerings.
  • Analyze and enhance the performance, scalability, and stability of platform products and tools.
  • Partner with product management to define product requirements and influence overall product direction.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a technical leader in a near real-time solution environment.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience as a software developer in Rust, Go, or C/C++, preferably in large-scale network or security solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Web Applications and Web-Network Protocols (HTTP/S and TLS Protocols).
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.

Advantageous Skills:

  • Cybersecurity experience is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, Lua, or Java.
