Director, Product Management

Reporting directly to IGN’s VP of Innovation, the Director of Product Management is the driving force behind IGN’s product design and development efforts, directing a culture of turning insight into action that leads to a positive impact on the business. The Director of Product is responsible for product vision, team development, product culture, roadmap, OKRs, and execution. They guide the product, design, and research teams to investigate, plan, design, build, launch and iterate on tools and features that IGN’s customers love, and help content and sales teams achieve their goals.

Position Description:

  • Manage and coach a team of product and managers and designers and drive career planning and performance management to help them expand their skills, execute their plans, and deliver results
  • Product strategy: align and collaborate with IGN’s content, sales, and engineering departments to develop product strategy that supports company goals to grow audience, membership, engagement, and revenue
  • Product development: partner with engineering to plan, deliver, and iterate on new products to IGN’s active and valuable O&O web and app audiences
  • Product culture: drive a culture that understands the importance of continuous innovation, rapid iteration and cross-department communication and collaboration
  • Evangelism: serve as IGN’s product evangelist internally and externally, and lead product training, gather feedback, and prioritize improvements
  • Analytics and tracking: establish and track OKRs and work with IGN’s analytics and customer intelligence team to gauge product effectiveness and ongoing health
  • Represent the product team in external client and partner conversations
Job Qualifications 
  • Minimum 6+ years of product management experience in media, advertising, or mobile
  • Exceptional leadership,communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to understand customer needs and leverage them to drive iterative improvement
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to translate business requirements into actionable project plans
  • Background in UX, design or computer science
  • Knowledge of the games and entertainment media landscape a plus
