Accreditation Canada is searching for physicians and technologists who are interested in becoming assessors for the Integrated Community Health Services Centres (ICHSC) Quality Assurance Program.
The ICHSC Quality Assurance Program is a mandatory, inspection-based program that enhances patient safety by assessing the facility-level policy and operations supporting the delivery of licensed services at a diagnostic, surgical and/or medical centre. Licensed services include:
• Pulmonary Function Test
• Sleep Medicine
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging
• Computed Tomography
• Nuclear Medicine
• Positron Emission Tomography
• Bone Densitometry
• General Radiography
• Mammography
• Ultrasound
Assessors are experienced healthcare professionals who share our passion for quality improvement and people-centred care for all. They play a key role in conducting assessments of centre practices, both on-site and remotely, to ensure compliance with quality standards and facilitate continuous improvement. Terms: Availability to participate in a minimum of two inspections per year, though time commitment can vary according to practice specialty. Assignments for on-site assessors are generally 1-2 days in length; physician assessors work remotely reviewing cases. Additionally, some post inspection and travel time may be required. Inspections will be scheduled around assessors' availability and the needs of the ICHSC. Assessors will also participate in initial training and complete ongoing learning requirements.
Compensation: Assessors are paid professional fees for time spent on inspections and are reimbursed for travel expenses.

Location: Ontario, Canada - Primarily GTA
As assessors and champions of quality and safety, your responsibilities include:
- Conducting inspections as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Utilizing policies, clinical guidelines, evidence-based practices, and personal clinical expertise to assess compliance against requirements. Reviewing policies, processes, and procedures, reviewing patient charts, and conducting interviews.
- Reporting and decision making. Collaborating with Accreditation Canada staff and advisors to obtain advice on inspections. Preparing comprehensive written reports using standardized templates, and offering opinions on policies, processes, and procedures.
You have a unique history. Does it include the abilities and experience listed below?
- Actively or recently engaged in the delivery of the services listed above in an acute care or community clinical setting.
- Valid professional license as a physician or technologist in a relevant provincial college and in good standing.
- As a physician, experience in at least one of the following specialties: Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Sleep Medicine, Ophthalmology.
- As a technologist, a minimum of two years' experience in the modalities listed above.
- Fluency in English and excellent communication skills, including strong writing skills and the ability to adapt communication style to the audience.
- Ability to analyze information and draw conclusions based on direct observation and document review.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to adapt to unexpected changes.
- Strong technological skills, including the ability to operate a computer and use web-based software.

- Have experience working in a leadership role in the health care system in a clinical capacity.
- Have familiarity with the role of inspection in health care.
- Have knowledge of Accreditation Canada’s standards and processes.
- Have knowledge of Accreditation Canada’s people‐centered philosophy and how it translates into practice.
- Have experience working with others (e.g. patients, clinicians, or administrators) on quality improvement initiatives.
- Have experience working with Indigenous communities.
