The Content and Communications Specialist serves as a collaborative, cross-functional storyteller with excellent project management skills. They will be responsible for identifying content needs across channels and audiences to support overall company goals. The ideal candidate will quickly grasp HPM’s value proposition, brand positioning, and messaging. They will expertly develop compelling content and choose the right channels and tactics – whether external, internal, owned, social, or paid – for various initiatives and campaigns in support of brand building, corporate communications, and lead generation goals. The role requires strong copywriting and content creation skills, a sense of urgency, and the ability to manage multiple projects and content types seamlessly.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Content and Communications Specialist plays a crucial role in HPM’s marketing team, developing and executing a content roadmap to boost brand awareness, engagement, and affinity amongst internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Writes, edits, and produces high engagement, strategic content that reflects the HPM brand's voice, style, and tone.
  • Leads implementation of content marketing strategy including company website, blog, newsletters, and social media platforms.
  • Works in tandem with the proposal content captain and the technical team translating complex content into digestible information based on audience.
  • Develops project information for profile sheets, website and proposals.
  • Oversees all custom digital marketing plans and campaigns, reports on campaign metrics, and makes recommendations for optimization of all SEM campaigns.
  • Applies digital marketing best practices to optimize web content for search rankings, domain authority, visits, conversions, and leads.
  • Establishes and maintains HPM as thought leaders in target industries at speaking engagements in front of target audiences, white papers, or case studies.
  • Maintains company award calendar, makes strategic recommendations, and produces award submittals for projects and people across the company.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with media representatives and presents story ideas based on current marketing strategies and messaging per region.
  • Creates and manages marketing content calendar; coordinates content with current campaigns and social media channels.
  • Develop content in a variety of formats – including long- and short-form, website copy, short teasers, newsletter copy, webinar scripts, video clips, and social posts

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience telling stories and developing content in a communications- or content-focused role
  • Understanding of how to use AI tools to help content development
  • Strong project management, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Understanding of best practices for multimedia projects and ability to partner with creative and other teams
  • Basic understanding of SEO, content categorization and structure, content development, distribution, and measurement
  • Understanding of best practices and the ability to post to all social channels
