Hachette Audio seeks a Publicity and Marketing Coordinator to report to the Associate Director, Social Media, Publicity & Marketing. This Grammy-award winning division publishes the audiobook editions of titles from all HBG imprints, including Little, Brown & Co, Grand Central Publishing, Orbit, and more – covering all genres and age groups.
This position is based in our NY office on a two-day a week hybrid model. Please apply with a resume, cover letter, and samples of your publicity, marketing, and social media work.
Our department is small but dynamic – this position will have the unique opportunity to shape and grow the audiobook audience for our HBG authors across a variety of genres. An ideal candidate will have a background in social media and have a proven track record of successfully expanding audience reach. Passion for audiobooks is REQUIRED! This position is the intersection of project management, publicity/marketing admin, and consumer outreach and engagement, and is perfect for someone who is interested in creating a new voice for Hachette Audio, and their digital presence. 
  • Assist with Audio Marketing & Publicity administrative tasks, processing invoices, scheduling meetings, and updating project management systems.
  • Create and maintain robust media lists for audiobook-focused media contacts in Muck Rack.
  • Be willing to learn how to create audiograms and use audio editing software for audio excerpts.
  • Assist with Seasonal Media Presentations, and management of Hachette Audio’s social media accounts.
  • Collaborate with freelance graphic designer on assets for social media, maintaining a cohesive brand aesthetic.
  • Managing day-to-day scheduling, posting, and optimization of content across social media platforms.
  • Keep up to date with current technologies and trends in social media to present to the team.
  • 2-3 years' experience in publicity, pr, and/or marketing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Must be a resourceful self-starter who can take initiative and independently solve problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Muck Rack.
  • Familiarity with and enthusiasm for audiobooks.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms including Instagram, X, and TikTok.
  • Excellent project management, communication, organizational, prioritization and presentation skills a must.

The compensation for this position is $53,200. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
