We are currently recruiting for this position, which offers a salary range of $110,000 to $140,000. This position qualifies for participation in our annual employee bonus program.

Who you are
You possess hands-on experience - including chatbots, document intelligence, and predictive analytics - with the ability to prototype and integrate Azure AI Services, cognitive services, and comparable ML tools into production systems. You are proficient in AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot, with a strong aptitude for learning emerging technologies such as Python, Azure ML, and generative AI frameworks, and a demonstrated enthusiasm for applying them to new domains and business challenges.
You have successfully implemented web-enabled applications in HTML5, JSON, REST, CSS. You possess strong working knowledge of JavaScript frameworks and modern web technologies such as Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, or other open source tools.
Your background includes 9+ years of experience managing and effectively operating complex systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable. You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent education.
What you will do
GS1 US is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build high-quality, scalable software that powers our digital transformation and supports emerging initiatives in AI, machine learning, and automation. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in cloud-native environments, excels with Microsoft Azure, .NET, and Angular, and enjoys shaping modern, enterprise-grade solutions.
- What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET Core and Azure services.
- Build and optimize Azure SQL database objects and RESTful APIs.
- Improve existing codebases, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and business stakeholders to refine requirements and propose technical solutions.
- Estimate work, meet delivery timelines, and communicate progress clearly.
- Participate in build, release, and environment management processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on reliability and performance.
- Create clear technical documentation and present solutions during demos.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
- Prepare and execute unit and integration tests; support QA activities as needed.
What You Bring- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 9+ years of experience in software design and development, with strong expertise in .NET, C#, and Azure.
- Hands‑on experience with Angular/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, REST APIs, and modern web technologies.
- Proficiency with Azure PaaS services (Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus) and NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB.
- Experience with Git/Azure DevOps and cloud‑based application deployment.
- Familiarity with open‑source technologies and distributed team environments.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices and design patterns.
- Experience integrating AI/ML solutions, Azure AI Services, or cognitive services is a plus.
- Comfortable using AI‑assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot and learning emerging technologies.
