Group Director, Global DCO & Programmatic


OVERVIEW:

You will guide and direct the global programmatic and DCO teams across 6 offices including New York, Dusseldorf, Singapore, Tokyo, Beijing, and Sau Paulo. The team includes a global programmatic director, programmatic traders, project manager and a team of new DCO specialists executing campaigns across multiple channels, platforms and devices including video, mobile, display and native advertising.


As a senior role in our team and agency, you will lead cross-departmental work streams and communication with Strategy, Planning, Direct Investment and Analytics to facilitate best-in-class execution and service to clients. You will contribute to practice-level thought leadership, with responsibility for higher-level programmatic and DCO deliverables including SWOTs, POVs as well as growth roadmaps.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Shape the vision and identify the north star for DCO and programmatic. Create guiding principles for the team and establish tangible and measurable goals. 
  • Act as the driver & leader in all of our agency DCO strategy and execution, from organizational structure to delivery, collaborating with the client team.
  • Leadership and mentorship to Directors and work closely with them to grow junior team members.
  • Establish best practices for DCO and ensure seamless implementation globally
  • Actively work to improve processes and client relationships and maintaining a full overview of all work going through the team and ensuring full ownership
  • Create engagement/innovation roadmaps with MediaMath and Jivox and drive development of solutions and that deliver towards clients’ goals
  • Foster excellent relationships with discipline and senior clients and internal stakeholders across planning, analytics, finance, and investment.
  • Collaborate the Directors in each office to create programmatic and DCO campaigns that align with broader client priorities and drive accountability via quarterly check-ins
  • Help lead overall development of desk level programmatic buying strategies; leadership of programmatic specialists; evaluation and identification of optimal partners (tech, data, media)
  • Foster regularly cadenced touch bases with clients via annual meetings, QBRs, provide POVs on relevant industry and client specific topics. Be the resource the clients call on!
  • Provide ongoing POVs on marketplace and leading technology to both internal Agency/GroupM community as well as externally.

YOUR BACKGROUND:

  • You'll bring a minimum of 10+ years of progressively senior/technical experience in programmatic and DCO on the media owner, agency (preferred) or ad tech side.
    Experience with Jivoxis critical.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Analytics, Marketing, Communications, Advertising; OR equivalent professional work experience
  • Hands-on experience with ad technologies including data management platforms, DSP’s, SSP’s, DCO platforms, ad-verification, and 3rd party data providers is required
  • Working knowledge of viewability/brand safety solutions (MOAT, IAS, DoubleVerify, Open Slate, Channel Factory, etc.), audience measurement (e.g. Nielsen DAR)
  • Practical experience with ad-serving solutions, tag management and operations a plus
  • Familiarity with MMM, DMM or attribution modeling is advantageous
  • Experience with HTML and Tableau is a plus, but not required
  • You possess exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities are notoriously meticulous
