Director, Data Science

As an Associate Director within the Data Science team, you will be responsible for managing the development, execution and implementation of advanced analytics such as marketing mix models, programmatic bidding models for GroupM's top clients.  

You will be expected to:

  • Manage a small team of high skilled analysts and data engineers, who you will be responsible for coaching and developing, so they maximize their potential.
  • Consult with senior client marketing and business leaders to define and answer most important business questions to drive business growth
  • Analyze media performance utilizing cutting edge cloud tools and innovative analytics techniques that to create actionable insights
  • Perform storytelling from data and analyses; persuasively communicate insights to internal stakeholders and clients


You will report to the Director of Analytics. 



  • Act as primary day-to-day contact on insights and analytics to channel leads, clients, and 3rd party vendors
  • Advise on how to best leverage media and marketing investments to drive business results
  • Identify measurement opportunities, research and/or advanced analytics that supports clients’ marketing objectives
  • Solve problems and drive new and innovative working practices as part of regular client work and new business.
  • Supervise, train and mentor experienced and junior analysts
  • Use Statistical and Data Mining methods to project and explain client performance
  • Consult with clients on strategic decisions based on data insights
  • Keep abreast of evolving media landscape, including research and emerging trends to provide insight to both media teams and client
  • Develop analytics proposals and strategies to present to clients
  • Identify and partner with external measurement vendors and third-party data providers
  • Manage project timelines and deliverable schedules and share concerns about deliverables, timelines, and issues with project managers and director




  • 5-8 years of experience in statistical analysis, segmentation, predictive modeling, consulting and project management, preferably within the digital marketing space
  • 1-2 years of experience in a people management or supervisory role
  • Bachelor’s or Graduate in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science. Economics, Operations Research or related quantitative field
  • In-depth knowledge of integrated marketing and CRM disciplines (including primary research, online advertising, customer segmentation, targeting, direct marketing, customer care)
  • Experience working with programmatic data and ad serving platforms such as DCM and Sizmek and/ or trading platforms such as The Trade Desk or DV360
  • Proven experience with SQL and experience working with at least one of the major cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS)
  • Thorough understanding of online marketing, digital metrics and programmatic media
  • Website traffic analytics software (tagging and log file based) such as Omniture or Google Analytics preferred
  • Deep knowledge of various measurement and campaign management technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations using statistical and econometric modeling techniques
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills – a demonstrated ability to mine data for relevant and actionable insights
  • Knowledge of visual techniques for data analysis and presentation
  • Excellent written, oral communication, project management and presentation skills..
