Role Objective
This role is designed to lead the planning and execution of Commerce media activations as part of our agency group Mindshare. The role is responsible for supporting buys executed via retail media networks, with a strong focus on Grocery partners advertising across Citrus and Criteo Sponsored Product Self-Serve. platforms.
About the role
The Manager, Commerce Activation role will have a deep interest and appreciation for the uniqueness of retail and marketplaces, and use their retail expertise to deliver excellence in biddable retail media platforms. They will ensure seamless integration of performance-led retail media efforts into a holistic commerce strategy, delivering best-in-class results for clients.
This role will work as a member of a cross-functional team and inform, shape, and implement the most advanced performance-led strategies and solutions to unlock new growth opportunities across retail media ad ecosystems, for a number of our CPG clients including Weetabix and Yoplait.
This role will partner with our clients to translate their business objectives into campaign strategies, ensure collaboration across biddable channels to maximize client outcomes, and leverage data and tools to drive effective optimisations based on campaign parameters. An entrepreneurial spirit with a bias for action and problem-solving is necessary to be successful in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing Citrus and Criteo Sponsored Product media activations across grocery retailers.
- Executing campaign setup, bid recommendations, and budgeting to ensure overall client goal attainment, including the use of retailer agnostic bid management technologies such as Pacvue or Skai
- Maintaining excellent relationships with key account stakeholders to maximize promotional opportunities and assist them in navigating the Commerce activation landscape.
- Ensuring on-going campaign compliance to GroupM established guidelines and best practices.
- Driving forward the incorporation of cross-channel testing and optimization strategies.
- Preparing performance reports on a fortnightly, monthly, and quarterly basis, delivering campaign insight and optimisation opportunities.
- Synthesizing key data points, identify trends, and recommend activities to maximize business results and deliver an optimal customer experience.
- Address technical issues with media campaign serving.
- Staying up to date on changing marketplace dynamics surrounding ad products, technology, and measurement across search and programmatic within the retail media ecosystem.
- Managing reconciliation, invoicing/billing, trafficking, and mapping data to our internal media campaign management platform.
- Managing offshore resource in completing a number of activation tasks.
About you
- Experience in campaign management and optimization on Citrus and Criteo Sponsored Product Self-serve platforms.
- Understanding of retail commercial elements such as profit margin, inventory levels, forecasting, and demand planning to inform media decisions.
- Some understanding of how different media channels work together and retail partners’ advertising ecosystem.
- Strong drive to understand the retail landscape and latest trends in Commerce Media.
- Experience with retail bid management platforms, ideally Pacvue.
- Experience with digital shelf tools such as Data Impact, Profitero, Gradient or similar
- Experience managing a direct report.
- Experience across the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong experience with data management and analysis.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- A self-starter attitude that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent project-management skills; able to coordinate projects across multiple teams and functions.
