Role Overview:

Reporting into our Managing Director, the Group Digital Director leads and delivers the digital vision for MediaCom New Zealand.

The success of this role will be recognised via elevating MediaCom’s digital voice internally and externally.

 As our digital senior in the team, this role is the digital voice within the agency to drive excellence from thought leadership through to implementational brilliance. You are there to support the GBDs and ABDs with digital, creating deep client relationships with key digital clients and helping drive digital maturity across our clients. Your depth of experience enables you to understand both the top-down and bottom-up view of Digital, meaning you can visualise how the big picture translates into tangible results.

For this role specifically, you will have client responsibilities across our core clients which require digital leadership. You will need to manage your own workflow, with support from the GBDs on prioritisation.

 You will have a clear and active role in delivering business/growth plans alongside the GBDs and ABDs, leading to clear ownership of projects and agendas. You will work with them to develop and spot incremental opportunities, then deliver projects in line with prioritisation.

 This role is designed to drive digital governance with the team and foster a digital culture within the agency. You’ll be the first port of call for digital and will take a leadership role in developing MediaCom’s digital voice alongside other senior MediaCom stakeholders. You will help coach and grow our digital talent, ensuring processes are adhered to, and that they are continuing to develop in their role. You will work closely with media partners, data providers and third-party platforms to keep across updates and opportunities. You will also seek out and foster new relationships with new digital platforms and technology providers to ensure we’re continually assessing and evolving our product.

 You will provide support during new business pitches and will be expected to present within new business client pitches your digital vision of the client’s business.

 Knowledge and skills

  •  Extensive knowledge of digital marketplace, from implementation through to planning
  • Digital leadership skills, ability to drive influence and impact with internal and external stakeholders. Be seen as a digital leader with clients, with internal MediaCom teams and GroupM.
  • Being able to translate complex digital problems into easily digestible, client friendly language
  • Knowledge of Symphony, digital process and MediaCom systems a bonus
  • A collaborative team approach, willing to connect the dots of key internal workstreams and get their viewpoint across in an effective manner
  • A willingness to learn and desire to challenge yourself, to push MediaCom digital forward and own projects moving forward
