Reporting of the role
This role reports to: Senior Director, CTG Analytics

In this role, your goals will be:
In three months:
• Understand the team structure of GroupM & agencies, and workflow
• If new to media, learn how to use various media tools/software and get comfortable with media terminology
• Work on various reports, info dockets produced by CTG Analytics
• Basic understanding of your role & that of CTG Analytics, set KPIs in discussion with your manager

In six months:
• If new to media, be able to correctly interpret key metrics across different media • Deliver tasks/reports with 100% data accuracy – ideally with minimum supervision
• Start connecting the dots, asking higher order questions to understand concepts better

In 12 months:
• Anticipate problems/issues given a task, think ahead about additional questions/data requests the recipient of the deliverable may have; accordingly build-in that info/solution upfront
• Be up-to-date with industry trends: economy, regulation, consumer (audience) trends, tech, etc.
• Combine the above to create top quality work: meaning work that has considered available data, covered all perspectives, triangulated different data points to ratify results (data interpretation/insights) and has attempted to answer as many questions as possible

What your day job looks like with Team CTG:

• Cleaning & compiling huge volumes of data
• Developing & using logic checks to test for data accuracy at each step: combining data files, cleaning them, analysing data & copy-pasting to ppt/reports
• Benchmarks: applying the right logic to arrive at appropriate benchmarks, using market trends/intelligence/other data sources to inform the logic
• Inflation: clean, maintain data & determine inflation
• Track key buying metrics, develop new reports/dashboards • Work on short reads/documents that clearly outline the impact of developments in tech/regulatory/consumer behaviour on media, and therefore GroupM

What you’ll bring:
• Strong logical thinking capabilities – the most important criterion
• Strong inclination to question given wisdom, assumptions
• Meticulous attention to detail: catching errors in numbers/data & faulty logic, ability to check one’s own work
• Willingness to go beyond the immediate task: asking the ‘so what’ question - how the data insight impacts the bigger picture
• Comfortable working in a team – with other people who may be from very different backgrounds

Minimum qualifications:

• Graduate degree • 6-9 years of full-time work experience
• Strong numerical skills
• Proficiency in Excel & Powerpoint: should be comfortable using formulae; Macro writing skills will be an added plus
• Media planning experience - preferred but not mandatory
• Proficiency in use of media applications - preferred but not mandatory (BMW/YUMI, Radio Audience Measurement)
