Position at Wavemaker

The Growth Associate director role is a business-critical position that is fundamental to pitch success. It’s a key role leading the operational support of Wavemaker’s pitch responses and truly underpins the overall Growth (New Business) Team, and wider agency delivery. Manage new business operation elements ,plus other day-to-day outputs of the team. The role is varied with regular (daily) stretches from ‘set piece’ deliverables to ad-hoc requests and custom pitch submissions. As such, this is a fabulous opportunity for an ambitious, proactive individual to truly excel and really fast track their career.


Scope of work

Pitch project management

  • Responsible for new business request coming from local & international networks and be liaison with cross function team to provide China response.
  • Leading engagement with client prospects and pitch stakeholders
  • Ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Pitch budget management and responsibility.
  • Post-pitch sharing

 

Supporting the Growth Hub & Global Growth Community Development:

  • Maintaining, understanding and constantly enriching our Growth Hub (RFI, RFP, credentials, client list and case study library)
  • Manage and prioritise internal local market and external requests for information (case studies, capabilities, contacts etc.)
  • Supporting the Chief Growth Officer ‘guardianship’ of the local network.

Pitch Delivery

  • Work with Chief Growth Officer to develop the pitch strategy /
  • Work with project manager or pitch team to manage the creation of all content as required, e.g. presentations, films and all other collateral and successfully deliver pre-pitch, pitch and all follow ups on time, and on-budget.
  • lead and develop small to medium pitches
  • Celebrate success and learn from failures.

 

  • First 3 months :
    • Manage and liaison on international requests on new business opportunity
    • Organising complex pitch schedules and delivering to deadlines.
    • Minuting pitch meetings and ensuring that actions and next steps are timeously distributed to meeting participants
    • Upload of proposals to sourcing/tender platforms.
    • Manage and organize reporting for new business (internal and external)

 

  • First 6 months
    • Writing and developing RFI proposals independently.
    • Managing creation and development of presentations, written submissions and proposals and in the case of smaller opportunities
    • Support internal and external design on production of pitch related collateral inc. creative development of pitch films and other pitch theatre.

 

  • In the next 12 months
    • Key liaison with client leaders on pitch requirement
    • Working with wider global Growth community on new business opportunity
    • Orchestration of all talent (from junior people to the Global CEO) - ensuring team members are engaged and where they need to be.
    • Ability to lead smaller pitches

Your Qualifications

  • About 7-10 years or above working experience with relevant background from brand/communication, creative/digital/media agencies, consulting arms either managing new business or client-servicing individuals are welcome to apply.
  • Great organisational skills including the appropriate prioritization of tasks.
  • A good grasp of media agency culture, experience in a media planning or media business development role desirable.
  • A proactive and results driven approach with an enthusiasm to get the job done.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, able to think on your feet and find timely solutions to challenges and roadblocks.
  • Ability to work well in a team and build strong and productive relationships with all departments in the agency to get the best work out of a pitch team.
  • Natural self-starter with strong attention to detail.
  • Brilliant time management and confidence to deliver when working under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strength in numbers- both in English and Chinese (Mandarin)
  • Confidence in shaping content for written submissions and presentations and understanding of what constitutes clear and compelling story-telling.
  • Ability to think commercially e.g. ‘how can I sell it’, rather than ‘how can I describe it’.
  • Relentless ‘can do’ attitude.
