The Intelligence and Data team at GroupM always have their finger on the pulse, market trends, customer insights and the most up to date know-how on all things data & technology with respect to advertising. The team leverage these skills and attributes to provide A+ service and leadership to our agency partners and client leads through the development of proprietary intelligence product designed to unlock advantage and imagination.


A custom-built central intelligence platform designed to deliver data-driven intelligence through cutting edge technologies. Horizon includes the Intelligence Hub (our internal search engine), a library of market-leading knowledge product served through a powerful custom-built dashboarding engine, competitive insights, and external market influences such as macro-economic trends and expert commentary. All in one place and easy to navigate.


You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of key elements of the Horizon intelligence platform including underlying data assets and front-end design. More broadly, you will be responsible for bringing together data, creativity, and multiple methods to help our stakeholders make better choices rooted in human insights. All our people, processes and technology are united through our focus on understanding, accelerating, and optimizing the current offerings, making them more satisfying for stakeholders and more effective for our clients.

Chief Intelligence and Data Officer


Investment teams, Agency teams, Analytics Teams, Technology and Product teams, APAC and Global Intelligence and Data counter parts.


You will be working in a rapidly evolving environment where you will balance the immediate opportunity to leverage Horizon product and capabilities for short advantage with the longer-term benefits of upgrading data assets, implementing new product functionality, and driving automation through new processes.

Your key responsibilities are as follows:
• Monitor infrastructure performance and optimise where necessary
• Manage and implement new ETL data processing procedures
• Support the Investment team in building custom solutions, delivering key projects and BAU operations, with respect to data visualisation and analysis
• Design, build and deploy business intelligence dashboards and reporting solutions that increase efficiencies in reporting requirements
• Propose HTML, CSS and JavaScript code enhancements to advance the design and functionality of Horizon
• Provide commentary over leading Horizon dashboards to advance stakeholder market knowledge
• Work closely with IT resources to ensure Horizon meets all company and industry compliance standards
• Deliver data projects on time and within budget
• Perform regular data health checks to ensure data quality and completeness is adhered
• Guide the interpretation and communication of results of data analysis, and make recommendations of data literacy
• Work on multiple projects involving various stages of the product life cycle
• Create and maintain all code and artifacts
• PR, interviews, and conference representation as needed to promote GroupM’s leading work around data and intelligence and promotion of the platform, both internally and externally.

• Interface and knowledge transfer between Investment, Analytics, Agency, Commercial, Ops, and Product departments
• When required, collaborate with any regional and global GroupM and WPP counterparts for economies of scale, knowledge share and any relevant technical streams
• Demonstrate strong communication skills across all facets of your work
• Respond well to guidance and feedback from internal & external stakeholders
• Work collaboratively with people in both technical and non-technical teams

• Ensure discretion and prioritisation is given to either supporting 100% commercial initiatives and/or time saving initiatives
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders in ensuring complex technical solutions are demystified and clearly understood
• Effectively and succinctly communicate risks in a timely manner, where applicable with suggested mitigation plan
• Deliver technical products and solutions on time, and within specification agreed upon by stakeholders involved
• Ensure a sound, reliable, ethical, and robust governance framework is functioning effectively in line with WPP/GroupM policies and compliance requirements

• Master’s degree (preferred) in a relevant field (Computer Science)
• Previous experience in an intelligence role (3-5yrs), ideally within media but not mandatory
• A hunger to learn and specialise your skillset with an amazing team
• Flexibility to work in a cross-functional team but also have the initiative to solve the problem independently
• Initiative is key, this role will need a “let me figure this out” attitude rather than “tell me what to do attitude”
• Hands on experience in integrating multiple technologies to bring products to life

The Intelligence and Data Manager will support the Chief Intelligence Officer in both front-end and back-end product development and will need to hit the ground running. They will have exceptional interpersonal skills, being able to communicate complex issues in an easy to digest format. In addition, have strong business acumen & technical skills to ensure GroupM retains and improves its competitive advantage when it comes to data and technology. You will provide pivotal support to the wider teams in making business decisions and supporting clients, using statistical models & data analysis.

• Advanced knowledge of database structures and architecture (SQL Server)
• Experience with various ETL processes (SSIS, SSDT)
• Technically competent in HTML, CSS and JavaScript (D3.js)
• An inquisitive and creative mindset with the ability to tell a story through the visual presentation of data
• Strong working knowledge of Visual Studio (MVC, C#)
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud
• Experience in utilising a version control system (GIT/TFS) and project tracking system (Jira/AzureDevOps)
• A working knowledge of BI platforms (Tableau/Datorama/Power BI)
• Experience working with API’s
• Proficient with project and product management delivery methodologies and software e.g. JIRA, confluence, Microsoft Project, Asana etc
