Overview of job
Based in Kuala Lumpur the Associate Director manages the affiliate marketing function for specific clients for Neo, working closely with the affiliates and our client management team to drive successful affiliate programs and campaigns in Asia Pacific. We work with some of the world’s biggest retailers, so we are looking for the right candidate to join us to deliver exceptional service levels to these current clients and additionally to focus on acquiring fantastic new clients to grow our business.

In this role, your goals will be:

  • Act as a client lead and manage regional Affiliate Marketing programs for our blue-chip clients
  • Spearhead business development efforts by identifying potential clients and brands, engaging with respective decision makers, building solid winning pitch material and on-boarding the new clients
  • Manage, motivate and educate your client team of Affiliate Account Managers/Account Executives based in Malaysia and in other offices in the region with a focus on achieving specific account and business goals
  • Develop senior level relationships with stakeholders within clients, affiliate partners and networks/technology providers
  • Push an analytical approach, where the team uses detailed reporting and performance metrics to draw insight and make strategic recommendations to clients to optimize their affiliate program
  • Ensure the team’s time is prioritized correctly to meet the required service levels; always be prepared to manage client/affiliate expectations in terms of response, delivery and performance
  • Identify and recommend new opportunities to grow the business and increase efficiency
  • Responsibility for financial management from an external perspective monitoring client budget and spend and assist the Affiliate Director from an internal perspective with regards to profitability and revenue generation.

What you will need:

  • A minimum of 6 years digital marketing experience with at least 2 of these in an affiliate marketing focused role
  • Analytical and numerate, with strong communication skills. The candidate must be comfortable presenting to large groups of people and senior clients
  • Strong managerial experience, including experience developing and mentoring a team of existing staff. Experience of managing remote (based in other offices) staff is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of affiliate / partnership marketing and the best practice on how affiliate programs are managed
  • Strong new business and performance delivery track record
  • Commercial awareness and proficiency in managing client scopes and profitability
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Seeks ownership and readily accepts accountability
  • Familiarity with reporting platforms (affiliate networks/tools) and how they are used to manage campaign performance
  • Proven ability to develop strong internal and external business relationships
  • Support contractual discussions with affiliates and key vendors for the client
  • Keep a close ear to the ground on new opportunities to take to clients
  • Help guide and advise the wider agency team on best practices, innovation and work processes
