Reporting to: This role reports to the Associate Director - Investment, Essence India

 Measures of success: 

In 3 months:  

  • Understanding of Essence cross-functional teams, their roles and responsibilities
  • Completely hands on with the deal structuring, how to approach negotiations, standard SOPs for the clients and the Unit
  • Lead deal closure and execution of grids for aligned business and clients’ campaign requirements
  • Involved from brief to implementation and delivery of campaigns for the aligned business
  • Establish confidence in the team through your contribution and value adds while delivering plans to Campaign Delivery Team
  • Arrive at benchmarks for integrated media plans across TV, Press, Radio and Digital I/O Buys

In 6 months: 

  • Set the overall vision of the unit and the buying product / function – with clear strategies & benchmarks, implemented and tracked on a regular basis
  • Set goals for self and the team keeping the account realities 
  • Build in an array of best practices 
  • Collaborate and contribute towards the goals of the unit
  • Ensure timely reporting of media deliverables and reports 

In 12 months: 

  • Set the standard for all processes that pertain to implementation and investment within the unit
  • Inspire and motivate the team to deliver high performance output by providing regular and constructive feedback
  • Ensure Plan QC & process optimization right through the year with a tracker 
  • Achieve 100% Essence process compliance adherence 
  • Contribute towards Essence benchmark setting to enhance efficiency compared to previous annual efficiency benchmark
  • Be the lead contact and trusted advisor for any Non-Biddable Investment requirement 

Responsibilities of the role: 

Following are the responsibilities of the Investment manager and the varying degree of complexity is subject to individual job level:  

·         Investment manager is accountable for tactical buying and execution of Non-Biddable media plans for a set of businesses 

·         Investment manager needs to understand clients’ media deliverables, Essence deliverables and campaign KPI’s  

·         Review the brief received from Business Team; align with them on the expectation/ output  

·         Based on the reviewed and aligned brief, create integrated activation plans In line with SOP 

·         Negotiate with Vendors for buying the activation plan including value adds, FCT management & campaign execution etc 

·         Vendor Relationship Management 

·         Create & optimize the activation plan meeting the media objectives by balancing the available resources with the constraints  

·         Close the optimized plan with Activation and Business team

·         Working with MPlan team for campaign execution (campaign go live) 

·         Track the deal recon on daily/ week basis in terms of performance, balances etc

In addition to implement and manage integrated campaigns

·         Investment manager understand media behaviours and how the target audience interacts with media 

·         Platform Strategy is effectively embedded in the plan structure based on aligned process 

·         Ensure multi-channel / integrated plan solution are provided to planning team wherever required. 

·         Work collaboratively with Business/Planning Team , MPlan, AdOps and other teams (wherever required) to ensure a holistic approach in integrated campaign creation & execution  

·         Ensure Plan QC & process optimization around key deliverables of the Campaign are taken care. 

·         Ensure understanding and 100% compliance with both GroupM and Finance processes, policies and procedures 

·         Promote knowledge, share and continuous learning around POVs, trends, relevant skills, media channels and technologies to continue nurturing a high-performing team 

·         Support the Business/Planning team in meeting strategy, planning, execution and reporting requirements 

·         Ensure smooth working relationship with Business/Planning team to manage client budgets and deliver on campaign-wise / monthly and annual media KPIs  

·         Proactively identify opportunities to improve and enhance clients’ campaigns and advise Business/Planning team accordingly 

What you will need: 

  • 4+ years of media Buying experience; Rapport in the market to enable beneficial terms
  • Understanding of Media – TV, Print, Radio & Digital Display; able to deliver integrated media solution
  • Amicable relationship with vendors,understanding of vendor hierarchy
  • Proven experience in campaign based buying, execution and tracking with meticulous process
  • Able to effectively develop and motivate people to achieve joint goals
  • Able to efficiently prioritize and delegate tasks in a fast-changing environment
  • Excellent knowledge of negotiations and inflation management
  • Industry Software Knowledge & usage – YUMI, IRS, TGI, MAP. 
  • Leadership skills demonstrated by self-confidence, good judgement, sound decision-making, empathic listening, flexibility, self-motivation and ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent communication & stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Proactiveness in address and escalate when needed, on any issue that compromises the quality and timeliness of deliverables
