Overview of job

GroupM is the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for attracting the best and brightest talent to the GroupM agencies, delivering a diverse range of candidates to ensure we are constantly ahead of our competition.  This role champions and trains across GroupM appointed recruitment tools, including Jobvite and Chequed, manages the hands-on recruitment for Specialist roles across all levels and leads internal mobility in GroupM Malaysia.

In this role, your goals will be:

In three months:

  • Developed strong and influential relationships with all relevant decision makers: Talent, Business Leads, MDs, CEO, etc
  • A thorough understanding of the GroupM agencies and specialist business units’ recent developments and what talent they seek
  • Partner closely with the HR & Talent Director and MDs to strengthen talent acquisition strategy to reduce recruitment turnover time and recruiting quality talents
  • Up to speed with GroupM recruitment tools and channels by accessing the advantage, opportunities and effectiveness

In six months:

  • Understood the exact requirements in order to push forwards with the ‘change management’ around hiring manager responsibilities
  • Ensured the businesses all understand and support the #recruitmentisateamsport structure
  • Proven capabilities in managing key stakeholders across all-levels

In 12 months:

  • Significantly increased talent pipeline and better way of incorporating tool to attract talent from diverse backgrounds
  • Audited Talent Acquisition process and precedents against market trends and strategize new and effective approaches


What your day job looks like at GroupM:

  • Build the strongest and deepest agency relationships - not just with hiring managers and talent leads, but across all departments at all levels
  • Actively recruit across various positions for GroupM Specialist Unit and Operations Support
  • Work closely with the Director of HR & Talent on the vision and strategy for Talent Acquisition across Malaysia
  • Implement the talent acquisition strategy (in line with the business strategy and any regional talent acquisition strategy) across the group
  • Get under the skin of our agencies to understand their needs, wants, expectations
  • Be an effective, committed and participative team member in order to provide a first class service to the Group; Own projects in the areas of talent mapping/CI, executive research/search, regional reporting and analysis and high-volume, high-octane recruiting
  • Continue ensuring that hiring managers understand their role in recruitment, can use the systems and tools themselves and that the agencies live and breathe the #recruitmentisateamsport mantra
  • Develop relationships with candidates brought in by GroupM Talent once they have started, ensuring all candidates are met within their probation periods
  • Consistently careful and methodical, ensuring all public advertisements, and communications with candidates are to the high quality expected from GroupM
  • Contribute to the community management of our social channel (LinkedIn)
  • Build and maintain the recruitment marketing and the partnership with external parties such as universities and other relevant parties for branding initiatives
  • Be the guardian of the internal mobility process in Malaysia
  • Manage and administer the ERP (Employee Referral Program)


What you’ll bring:

  • Experience recruiting within media, digital, marketing and advertising
  • Experience of working in a complex matrix structure
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Proven senior stakeholder management experience
  • Concern for quality and pride in all work produced
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Experience working in a high pressure environment, meeting and exceeding KPI’s with limited resource
  • Strong presentation skills
  • High level of comfort with, and interest in technology, in particular CRM tools, analytics dashboards and content creation tools [Eg Videoscribe, Piktochart, Prezi]
