GroupM is the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Search & Performance Associate Manager to join us at GroupM.

In this role, you will grow all aspects of Paid Search activity across a range of mid-tier agency clients, providing insight, strategy, and high-quality deliverables in tandem with the SEO personnel and wider agency team.

Measures of success –

In three months:

  • Strong understanding of client business model
  • Build professional relationship with external vendors and lead performance driven strategies with clients
  • A keen understanding on the various platforms and systems which power digital media
  • Ad copy management – Reviewing ad copy performance and provide improvisations
  • Great understanding of best practices and audit process to deliver best in class campaigns

 In six months:

  • Be able to provide optimization suggestions and work with the team to improve campaign performance
  • Achieve target KPIs across key clients
  • Upskill Performance executives and manage workloads
  • Be on top of all the betas and innovations in the digital space and be able to articulate and share with internal and external stakeholders and how it could be relevant and useful to them

 In 12 months:

  • Be comfortable in developing proposals and preparing search strategies in line with the overall campaign
  • Be able to lead and provide strategic insights on Search matters to the brand teams/clients you work with
  • Be confident in taking part in pitches whilst working together with the rest of the agency
  • Assists in the development and documentation of best practices for improving operational efficiencies within the team and the group

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Plan Development and Maintenance
  • Partner with Business Unit Managers and Digital Leads on all aspects of search/performance plan development and recommendations
  • Mastery of Tier I engine UIs and capabilities, relevant SEM and Digital automation platforms and strong knowledge of Tier II vendors and capabilities
  • Maintain a deep understanding of client business goals and marketing objectives, translating them into digital objectives/strategies
  • Prepare and present strategic media recommendations to client and agency management, including objectives, strategy, rationale, and provide analysis and projections to support recommendations
  • Design and implement or oversee implementation of single and multi-variant tests to increase campaign efficiency
  • Supervise the implementation of all search campaigns
  • Keep abreast of current events, search/digital media trends and any target market industry trends that impact business
  • Serve as expert in performance optimization
  • Ensure integration & coordination between performance  and planning teams
  • Team Management and Leadership
    • Delegate work effectively to teach direct reports, as well as deliver seamless work to client
    • Work with Performance Executive to fulfill set client strategies by creating deliverables and specific recommendations, including account structure and implementation, optimizations, conditional testing, tracking, and overall management
    • Supervise, guide and counsel Performance Executive on all day-to-day activities and ensure that all processes are followed
    • Train performance team in media and marketing disciplines as well as the specifics of the client’s business and industry
    • Accurately, objectively and constructively evaluate performance of Performance Executive via talent development process
    • Contributing to an environment where ‘Innovation as usual’ thrives in everyday work
  • Account Management
  • Keep media and agency partners updated and informed on status of all account projects
  • Initiate appropriate cross-functional client meetings
  • Leads campaign financials (budgets/billing)
  • Lead in Client / Agency calls as the day-to-day product group representative from the search account team

What you will need:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in a Search role and managing an exec
  • Strong copywriting skills as part of the job requires creating compelling ad copy that is relevant to the campaign yet is still within vendor specifications
  • Proven record of success in running audience-based/performance driven/direct response campaigns
  • Comfortable using Microsoft excel and manipulating dashboards – An analytical mind that is creative as well as data driven to identify trends/patterns and insights
  • Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and/or communications preferred
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent understanding of media fundamentals
  • Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency
  • Ability to work within and effectively manage a team, decisively organizing multiple assignments for both self and team direct reports
  • Adherence to tight deadlines while delivering flawless work
  • Extremely business-minded and detail-oriented, with clear and proven organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Show ability in training and leadership capability
  • Demonstrate genuine curiosity and interest in our clients & their business
