The Position

Provides support to the Purchasing Manager by completing day to day purchases, sourcing product and or services for Gateway’s locations in Ontario. The individual will work with Gateway Casinos Employees, Vendors and Corporate staff to ensure competitive purchases are made with cost saving opportunities recognized.   

Key Responsibilities 

  • Supports Purchasing Manager and Buyer with completing Purchase Orders working with other departments to verify orders, contacting vendors and evaluating bids offered by vendors. 
  • Work with Accounts Payable to assist with pay arrangements.
  • Able to complete three bid processes to ensure fair competitive process is completed, analyze bids for suitability, cost and availability of product or service.
  • Able to prepare, issue and award Request for Quotations.
  • Assist with completing Short Form Contracts.
  • Work with Gateway Casinos Customs Broker to ensure product is cleared efficiently and most cost effective.
  • Research and be aware of cost saving opportunities on a daily basis.
  • Spend and commitment tracking for projects.
  • Quarter end and year end reporting on open commitments.
  • Ensure maximum communication between site operations and Vendors.
  • Administrative duties include record keeping, logs and AGCO Reporting.
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy and consistency of all documentation and completed in timely manner.
  • Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards, debris and litter.
  • Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Adhere to departmental quality standards.
  • Perform other related and compatible duties as assigned.

What You Bring  

  • 3 years of purchasing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Diploma with emphasis in business administration and/or technology.
  • Experience with Gaming Systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to use and understand Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Words, Visio, etc.) email, Internet navigation and presentation software (PowerPoint or other software).
  • Understanding of Great Plains system and/or similar environments
