Shift Assignment: Day, Fri/Sat OFF, Sun-Thu – 08:00-16:00

The Position
Provide painting services to Casino Rama Resort.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and repair areas throughout the complex including walls, door frames, etc.
- Knowledge of TSSA act, regulations and codes
- Have an understanding of Health and Safety policies including but not limited to WHMIS, fall arrest, lockout, fire protection systems, gas detection and monitoring
- Paint and wallpaper as required
- Decorate facilities
- Perform all other duties assigned and assist other trades as required by management
- Apply protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other structures.
- Wash, scrape, sand, torch, and/or smooth interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials.
- Clean equipment, paint mixing area, and work area.
- Operate compressors, striping machines, sandblasters, spray equipment, and other small power equipment.
- Install, repair, and maintain drywall, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing
- Apply paint, stains, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate, and according to Materials Safety Data Sheets ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines.
- Determine appropriate colour for new or replacement applications
- Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials
- Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards, debris and litter.
- Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.
- Adhere to departmental quality standards.
- Assist with snow clearance as required
- Perform other related and compatible duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Valid Certification of Apprenticeship from the Ontario Ministry of Education and Training Branch(Minimum – commercial and residential – Branch 1 – Painter Decorator) is preferred or equivalent experience.
- Possess a valid Ontario Driver’s license and provide a clean driver’s abstract on an annual basis.
