This role manages Cage & Coin Operations during the shift in compliance with the AGCO, and other applicable municipal, provincial and federal laws and regulations.  In addition, the Cage and Coin Shift Manager will assist in maintaining good public relations with customers and maintain an open-door policy with all employees. This role is also responsible for complying with safety and security standards of the corporation while orientating staff to operations and complying with pre-determined internal control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop an effective staff to meet and exceed performance expectations by establishing and maintaining a positive work environment and effective employee relations.
  • Make recommendations in the hiring, training, evaluating, rewarding and apply disciplinary or corrective counselling to staff.
  • Ensure that the Cage & Coin shift employees follow and enforce acceptable policies and procedures with regards to the security of corporation assets, inventory of corporation assets and security of cash or tokens.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the Internal Controls and ensure that any new policies and procedures follow within the guideline of current Internal Controls.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.  Comply with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment and identify unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Maintain general awareness of gaming operation at all times and comply with security policies and procedures in order to secure company assets.
  • Assist with the administration of the departmental budget by monitoring use of overtime, tracking of scheduled hours, managing operating expenses, etc.
  • Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to all patrons, employees and OLG personnel.
  • Ensure that the Cage & Coin shift employees have the necessary tools to run the operation such as correct number of staff, proper guidelines, licensing and procedure manuals.
  • Monitor, develop and review all policies and procedures ensuring that operational requirements are being met or enhanced.
  • Additional or different responsibilities or duties, which are consistent with the position summary, may be assigned at the discretion of the Cage and Coin Manager.

 

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, communication and managerial skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer software package, email and Internet navigation.
  • Strong understanding of casino products (slots & table games), systems and/or similar environments.
  • University Degree or equivalent with focus in Commerce, Accounting or Economics.
  • Completion of a management training program is also required.
  • Managerial experience in the related field of three (3) or more years. 
  • Requires Registration as a Category 1 Gaming Assistant through the AGCO.
