Sr. Network Engineer

Description

As a Sr. Network Engineer, you will support Funko’s global enterprise network, ensuring all configurations, designs, and architectures—both on-premises and cloud—adhere to industry best practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to advance company objectives. You will manage SASE providers and vendors to meet SLA requirements and drive continuous improvement through enhanced functionality, network optimization, and comprehensive documentation. Additionally, you will deliver clear communication and training to infrastructure teams and contribute to network expansion and capacity planning alongside team members. You will be responsible for maintaining a detailed system inventory and lifecycle replacement program. Significant collaboration with the Information Security team will be required for improvements, remediation, and systems optimization.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, architect, and support all network devices and solutions, including routers, switches, security solutions, VPNs, L4-7 load balancers, and network management systems across Funko’s LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Work with leadership teams on the design, planning, and strategy for new and existing facilities to ensure sites are appropriately designed and delivered on time.
  • Implement network, security, and change-management best practices, ensuring appropriate controls are established for optimal effectiveness.
  • Provide escalation support and participate in major incident management activities and events, including security events.
  • Develop and maintain network performance and system monitoring solutions using new and existing tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure integration across systems.
  • Be available for after-hours support for business-critical systems.
  • Perform ongoing network optimization, including tuning, availability, reliability, and security.
  • Ensure network infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and performs while adhering to expense optimization.
  • Provide Tier III leadership support for cross-functional team members and act as an escalation point for lower-tier support groups.
  • Provide guidance to lower-level engineers and engage external vendor support as required.
  • Develop and maintain systems documentation and diagrams.
  • Some travel required 
 
What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8 years of network engineering experience.
  • 3 years of network design and planning experience.
  • 3 years providing network design and support services for cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, Public Cloud).
  • Service management experience utilizing ITIL or similar service management processes.
  • Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining software to aid in network systems testing.
  • Current professional or expert-level network certification, such as Cisco's CCDP, CCNP, CCDE, CCIE, or equivalent knowledge.
  • Experience with private and public cloud services integrated with on-premises services.
  • Vendor management experience leveraging SLA and KPI metrics to drive results.
  • Expertise with varied routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, HSRP, and VRRP.
  • Experience with reporting protocols and tools, such as NetFlow, sFlow, ntop, Splunk, etc.
  • Expert-level knowledge in one or more areas: SD-WAN, WAN technologies (remote access, wireless, routing protocols, QoS), LAN technologies (VLANs, Spanning Tree, VoIP, SDN), and a high-level understanding of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP, as well as open-source tools (Cacti, CVS, MRTG, Rancid, etc.).
  • Strong documentation skills with Visio, Lucidchart, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated flexibility by embracing change, adapting communication style to the setting, and investigating and implementing alternative approaches to resolve complex problems.
  • Proven track record of driving projects to completion and taking accountability for work and results; confronts tough issues and situations.
 
  • Consults with clients and teammates to identify all facets of an issue and generate solutions; understands potential impacts to processes and systems across the organization and factors these into solutions.
  • Excellent conceptualization, analytical, and logical skills.
  • Strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to articulate and translate technical language for non-technical audiences.
  • Capable of influencing at all levels across the company.
  • Experience with configuration management tools and concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience with best practices for implementing new services into the network.
 
Salary Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $121,500 - 151,500 annually.​Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
