Vinyl is the number one stylized vinyl collectible on the market, selling millions of figures to fans around the world. 
The Utility Artist works in partnership with the design team on layouts, revisions, and pre-production art needs for various Funko projects (i.e., packaging, NFT cards, etc.,). The Utility Artist will also partner with a Design Artist in doing color callouts. 
We are looking for a Utility Artist to help with various projects with eye-catching and professional graphic designs, the ability to develop designs that fit our brand, and have the experience working in a fast-paced environment. 

What You’ll Do
 
  • Uses pre-created style guides and graphic design skills to create pleasing original design solutions for package design.
  • Works with designers on color callouts key and color changes.
  • Assist with packaging, illustration, and other tasks pertaining to the production process.
  • Do Glams for various in-house lines.
  • Helps assist the design team with product catalog creation.

What You’ll Bring
 
  • 1+ years’ experience in a previous packaging design role, preferably developing packaging for characters or similar consumer products.
  • Should be extremely proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • An understanding of color theory is required.
  • Graphic design skills are also recommended.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative office environment. 
  • Superior organization skills, ability to multi-task across several ongoing projects, and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner. 
  • Must be able to follow a project from concept to completion. 
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary to complete time-sensitive projects must be able to handle tight deadlines and be quick to adopt change. 
  • Fun, creative, and insightful, and not afraid to share your opinion.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • The ability to illustrate in multiple styles.
  • Be able to receive feedback well from Lead and Art Directors. 
Salary Information 
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $24.23 - $30.29 hourly.  ​Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Work Environment 
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 
This position is on-site in San Diego, CA.
