Director, Business Development

Objectives of This Role:
Productive business development is the lifeblood of any company. The business development team is responsible for supporting business development efforts across the enterprise via a set of tasks and processes meant to develop and implement growth opportunities within (and between) organizations in a sustainable and profitable way. The business development team supports all types of revenue generation efforts—prospecting, RFI development, cross-introductions, and cross-selling between business units—in ways defined as most productive for each business unit and on behalf of the enterprise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the evaluation, triage, and support of all business units, as appropriate, for incoming business development opportunities while also proactively looking at new opportunities via outbound prospecting.
- Lead analysis of business development opportunities, including developing background information for target companies and brands to drive opportunity assessment
- Lead the development of bespoke RFI responses with a focus on core capabilities and all-company story while supporting individual offices as needed
- Facilitate coordination among internal stakeholders/business unit leads to ensure the pull-through and optimization of leads generated through thought leadership
- Support the execution of cross-selling opportunities across Fingerpaint business units with current and potential clients
- Manage business development and CRM platforms to ensure accurate tracking and reporting to CMO and executive leadership team
- Manage the development of case studies that align with business development, as well as other marketing materials as necessary
- Contribute to new business strategy: Evaluate market research, industry trends, competitive analyses, etc
- Some travel may be required to facilitate in-person relationship-building with senior leadership teams across business units
- 5 to 8 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in business development, business strategy, or account services at a healthcare marketing agency or consultancy
- Assumes at least 1 direct report
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, biology, or related field
- Strategic thinker with business acumen
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong networking skills
- Demonstrates commitment to fostering a team environment
- Proficient in LinkedIn; project management platform; and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
