Tekla Structural Detailer (Draftsman / Steel Detailer) – Remote | Full-Time | Day Shift
Description

You will be required to use your own computer for the role.
Model Generation: Develop highly detailed 3D models and technical drawings for both steel and concrete structures using Tekla Structures.
Drawing Production: Produce highly accurate part, assembly, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
Collaborative Design Verification: Review design documents, plans, and specifications to verify dimensions, resolve discrepancies, and ensure unified documentation standards.
Internal Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate closely with internal supervisors and technical teams via Microsoft Teams to report progress, manage project workflows, and escalate complex design choices.
Quality & Compliance: Maintain a high standard of first-pass approval and minimize error rates by strictly following specific structural steelwork fabrication standards.
Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures, with proven experience building both steel and concrete models.
Solid background in generating clear part, assembly, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
A robust understanding of structural design principles, technical drawing presentation, and manufacturing/fabrication processes (including shop floor constraints).
Strong written and spoken English skills, essential for smooth, direct daily collaboration with overseas teams and supervisors.
Proficiency with Office 365, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
High attention to detail, strong mathematical abilities, and the capability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Familiarity with Australian Structural Standards (such as AS 4100, AS/NZS 5131, and AS 1100 series) or a strong willingness to adapt to Australian conventions.
Experience creating and modifying custom Tekla templates, reports, and custom components.
Advanced technical experience developing macros, applications, or plugins utilizing the Tekla API.
Familiarity with AISC conventions.
