First Capital Summer Intern Program gives young professionals access to enriching opportunities to start and accelerate their careers. Our program is uniquely hands-on, allowing Interns to work alongside our leaders on exciting new projects and strategies. In addition to day-to-day projects, Interns will have access to a series of learning and networking events, mentorship sessions, an end of term Capstone Project, and much more. As Asset Strategy Intern, you will report to the Manager, Asset Strategy and support the team with real estate portfolio analytics and valuing the company’s real estate portfolio across Canada.
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
 
  • Assist in developing asset strategy plans for the Company's portfolio.
  • Conduct commercial and multi-residential market research.
  • Provide support to preparing valuations related schedules, reconciliations and other information
  • Provide asset strategy and portfolio analytical support to the Asset Strategy team.
  • Participate in special projects and take on other duties as assigned. 
  • Support financial reporting requirements.
  • Update asset-level amortization schedules.
WHAT YOU BRING:
 
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Real Estate, Commerce or Business.
  • Demonstrated interest in developing a career within commercial real estate and general knowledge of valuations, asset management, investment, brokerage, or lending.
  • You have strong analytical skills with the ability to gather information, synthesize it, and connect the-dots.
  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate across all levels both within and outside of First Capital.
  • You demonstrate outstanding and organizational capabilities and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • As a self-starter, you have a willingness to learn in a dynamic environment and are eager to grow your exposure to new technology and processes, taking any opportunity to acquire new skills.
  • You have strong computer skills, including an excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Power BI and valuation software (Argus Enterprise) and methodologies as an asset.

OUR APPLICATION PROCESS:
 
Our Summer Internships/Co-Ops are four-month, paid, in-person opportunities commencing on May 4, 2026, and concluding on August 21, 2026. Interns must be available on a full-time basis for the entire duration of the program.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and only selected candidates will be invited for interviews with our team.
