Wage Range: $105,269 -$168,397 annually

 Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

 

Job Summary:

Responsible for managing day-to-day internal communications strategy, planning and execution across EvergreenHealth. Ensures employees, providers, leaders and volunteers understand organizational priorities, navigate change and stay connected to EvergreenHealth’s mission, values, strategy and culture. Leads internal communication planning, project intake, content development, channel management, employee communication platforms, measurement and team workflow. Partners with executives, operational leaders, clinical leaders, physicians, Human Resources, Marketing, Public Relations, and other stakeholders to deliver clear, timely and consistent communication across internal audiences.  Provides oversight and leadership to Internal Communications team members and supports employee engagement, employee recognition initiatives, internal brand consistency, leader communication tools, executive communications, change communications, and as applicable, urgent internal communications.

 

Primary Duties:

  1. Manages day-to-day internal communications strategy, planning and execution across EvergreenHealth in alignment with organizational priorities, brand voice, culture and values.
  2. In collaboration with the Executive Director, establishes internal communication standards, channel strategy, governance, messaging principles, and communication planning processes.
  3. Leads project intake, prioritization and workflow for Internal Communications, including scoping requests, assessing audience impact, setting timelines, coordinating contributors, and tracking deliverables.
  4. Develops and implements communication plans for systemwide initiatives, operational changes, clinical priorities, culture efforts, employee engagement programs, and other high-impact work.
  5. Partners with executives, physicians, clinical leaders, operational leaders and business partners to assess communication needs, shape key messages, support organizational readiness, and advise on appropriate channels.
  6. Creates, edits, and manages internal communication content and the internal editorial calendar, including employee messages, leader talking points, FAQs, presentations, scripts, intranet content, newsletters, digital signage, campaign materials, and event communications.
  7. Oversees internal communication channels and technology, including employee communication platforms, intranet content, email tools, newsletters, digital signage, video channels, audience segmentation, publishing workflows, analytics, and continuous improvement.
  8. Leads change communication, executive communication, and urgent internal communication support, including timely employee updates and coordination with appropriate leaders during sensitive matters or crisis situations.
  9. Provides day-to-day leadership, coaching, editing support, and workflow direction for Internal Communications team members and oversees employee recognition communications and related employee experience initiatives as needed.
  10. Manages selected vendors, contractors, or platform partners.  Identifies opportunities to improve processes, channel performance, project management and team efficiency.  Participates in on-call internal communications coverage as needed.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 License, Certification, Education, or Experience: 

REQUIRED for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, healthcare administration, business administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in internal communications, corporate communications, public relations, marketing communications, employee engagement, or related field.
  • 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience, including team leadership, project leadership, or formal mentoring of communication professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing internal communication plans for complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management, communication intake, prioritization, planning, and execution across multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience using internal communications platforms or technology, such as intranets, employee communication platforms, email tools, content management systems, digital signage, analytics dashboards, or collaboration tools.
  • Experience advising leaders or stakeholders on communication strategy, messaging, audience impact, timing, and channel selection.
  • Strong writing, editing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain quality, accuracy, and confidentiality under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and levels.

 

DESIRED for the position:

  • Master’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, healthcare administration, business administration or related field.
  • Experience in a health system, hospital, medical group, public hospital district, or other complex healthcare organization.
  • Experience supporting executive communications, leader communications, town halls, employee forums, crisis communications, or change communications.
  • Experience overseeing employee recognition initiatives, engagement events, employee storytelling, or employee experience communications.
  • Experience managing or administering employee communication platforms, SharePoint, intranet platforms, digital signage tools, email platforms, or related systems.
  • Experience supervising creative, communication, or content professionals.
  • Familiarity with healthcare operations, quality and safety priorities, patient experience, employee engagement, and organizational change.
