Wage Range: $119,454 - $191,110 per year
Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity. 
 
Job Summary:

Provides supervision of nurses and administrative staff in the Employee Health department. Collaborates with department management on the implementation and ongoing evaluation of Employee Health policies and programs for EvergreenHealth. Assesses individual and organizational health status and development of plans of care for employees, physicians and volunteers that are based on state and federal regulations, practice standards, and EvergreenHealth policy. Plans organization-wide Employee Health activities to meet regulatory and accrediting requirements. Coordinates with Infection Control, Risk Management and Safety programs.
 
Primary Duties:  
  1. Oversees programs, services, and operations of Employee Health for EvergreenHealth, ensuring the programs and services meet the changing needs of the health care environment and support the mission of EvergreenHealth.
  2. Provides oversight of the Employee Health Services daily operations.
  3. Provides oversight and supervision of department staff. Arranges adequate and appropriate staffing and provides oversight of scheduling.
  4. In collaboration with department management, responsible for personnel management including hiring, orientation/training, performance appraisals, disciplinary action and termination.
  5. Monitors annual operations budgets. Assists with coordinating the development and implementation of appropriate methods to monitor adherence to budgets and resolve variances.
  6. Provides education related to vaccine preventable illness and administer tuberculosis skin testing and vaccinations to employees.
  7. Maintains employee health information in the PeopleSoft system. Prepares and distributes reports from the PeopleSoft system.
  8. Prepares department for regulatory inspections such as Joint Commission or DOH.
  9. Leads or assists with communicable disease outbreak investigations involving employee illness or exposure.
  10.  Acts as an internal consultant in problem solving and providing employee health expertise to staff and management.
  11.  Ensures, in collaboration with department management, that EvergreenHealth complies with federal and state health and safety regulations.
  12.  Works in collaboration with Worker’s Compensation department, and employees as required, to prevent and respond to work-related injuries. Develops reports of sharps injuries, exposure incidents, and other employee injuries and illnesses.
  13.  Performs other duties as assigned.
 
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
 
REQUIRED for the position:
  • Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN) required within 5 years of employment if applicable
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the State of Washington
  • 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • 2 years of experience in occupational health nursing
  • 2 years of experience in a management or leadership role in a healthcare setting
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS- American Heart Association by start date
  • Expert knowledge of current occupation health nursing standards and practices. Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws relating to occupational safety and health for hospital healthcare workers, state workers’ compensation, and Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Excellent oral and written language skills in order to effectively communicate and process information.
  • Skill in time management and project management. Ability to work efficiently under pressure. Skill in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Skill in supervising others. Skill in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships. Ability to establish and maintain a cohesive work team.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service while utilizing resource effectively.
